Re: The UKAR politics thread

Whilst I don’t think it’s Cummings, as this happened in May, and Cummings left in December, the overall question is a pretty good one That’s true but given Cumming’s pantomime in front of the select committee it could be argued that this was being set up in May ready to drop whenever DC felt fit. I...

I see Cummings has already laid the boot into Sajid Javid! With the caveat of “you can’t con an honest man” am I the only one that smells a giant Cummings shaped rat in all of this? The CCTV in particular looks every inch a targeted sting operation. And before people jump down my throat accusing me...

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/jun/24/british-warships-might-enter-crimean-waters-again-says-minister Read the article. The surprise is at how quickly the Russians moved to get the story out to the press. It was not the ship’s company who was surprised by the Russian military actions. And...

What's the Royal Navy doing in Black Sea anyway? Umm it’s job?! Exercising the right of free passage? Protecting the sea lanes to ensure the right of free passage? I find many in the comments on here confusing. Firstly it is not the UK government that is at the centre of this but the Senate (?) of Jersey. It was they who are issuing the licenses. As for Boris electioneering by sending in gunboats? Utter utter nonsense. The election results would appear to be ...

Judging by many of the comments on here Which ones? In the same way that the recruit “could” have been right - given the numbers and on the balance of probabilities, empirical evidence suggests he wasn’t. Re: Heavy Handed Police (Again)

One person's appropriateness is another's inappropriateness. If anyone thinks arresting women after a vigil in memory of a woman murdered going about her business is appropriate then that's up to them. What about if the people there had identified as men, would that be acceptable? Sorry that was fa...

Doubt it. It doesn’t fit the narrative of the thread very well, but thank you for highlighting it as it fits what the silent majority generally felt about the situation.

With regards to the war heads I think it needs to be read in conjunction with the paragraph in the review that states we will “no longer give public figures for our operational stockpile, deployed warhead or deployed missile numbers” So we are saying that the total we can hold is going up but we won...

There is a lot of justified criticism of UK Govt going on however I can’t help noticing that no one has picked up on the fact that by all accounts a deal was all but in the bag a few days ago until the EU reneged on a lot of agreements and threw the entire process into unnecessary doubt and turmoil....
