Re: Season Premier 21
Travelling from Cornwall I have also booked accommodation
Yesterdays roadmap, though very welcome, gives me a problem with this air show. It`s a five and a half hour journey each way for me so unless things change and hotels are allowed to open earlier than stated at the moment, I will not ...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
Thinking about whats already in UK airspace - Beluga? AN12? E3, Sentinel, Shadow, Merlin, Widcat ? And what about Rich Goodwin`s JetPitts. Small but he certainly lays down a lot of smoke ! Don`t laugh but the Swedish Historic Flight. Aways say they are coming, what about it ? Wouldn`t refuse a Vigg...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
I'm a very positive, optimistic person and have been regarding RIAT taking place but i'll admit the Yeovilton cancellation has took a big hit out of my expectations now. What can DBH do which the organisers for Yeovilton couldn't? Partly because the Air Day is run by the RN whereas RIAT isn't plann...

Re: Season Premier 21
A quick question, both myself and son in law are thinking of going to this, do we book 1 car space or 2. As it stands we cannot travel together officially. So what do we do ?. It seems such a shame to book a space that could be used by others, just because we cannot travel in the same car. I attend...

Re: Abingdon Air(show) & Country Show 2021
From the Abingdon Facebook page :- Neil (the Main Organiser) is heavily planning the 2021 show since late August, and a Press Release was released with first details recently. A question that needs to be asked is: If the 2021 show has to adapt to being a 'drive in' style show, meaning the downscale ...

Re: Abingdon Air(show) & Country Show 2021
This has hit me more than expected, but it's really really heartwarming to have crumbs of 2021 airshows put before us. I acknowledge that there's a long road ahead, and much is still uncertain, but it's just bloody fantastic to see. Wessex flying display is bloody top! Nice one Tommy I agree entire...

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - Cancelled
Hi all. Not wishing to sound like a broken record, but has anyone had a refund yet? Cheers. Yes, mine went into my bank on 6th. of this month. Not sure how they are dealing with them as far as order goes, possibly as they were purchased. Mine was rolled over from the May show which in turn was purc...

Re: First Show on July 18
I agree entirely with the comments above, it was a superb afternoon and evening. The use of a radio instead of the pa system was a stroke of genius and I understand that it is likely to continue with the pa system being used only at the beginning and for any special announcements. I was fortunate to...

Re: Duxford Shows: 2020
In a normal airshow season, when would announcements begin for Duxford's September show? I would assume after Legends? Anyway, Catalina is self confirmed. However, this was probably post-lockdown and cancellation of most shows. At the moment as long as it`s got wings ( or rotors ) and flies I`ll go.

Re: Culdrose Air Day 2017
What was the actual reason for the St Mawgan Air Day to be disbanded. Not sure of the reason but probably came about when the Nimrod squadrons moved to Kinloss. The base was then gradually run down and in 2008 most of the airfield was taken over by Cornwall Council and it is now Newquay Cornwall Ai...

Re: Duxford Premium membership
AFAIK there is no preferential on-site parking for premium members The enclosure has no tiering and has rows of chairs If you choose to remain on the grass area in front of the marquee, you are not permitted to use seats, so you must stand or sit on the grass. The rules are enforced in a rather hit...

Re: Family Airshow - 4th August
Personally, the reasons why people are attending an airshow (and their topics of conversation) don't matter one bit to me. What matters, and what is most encouraging, is seeing large crowds filling the place month after month. They've had a fantastic year, aircraft participation and public attendanc...

Not fussed about the Blades, I`m not their greatest fan but I will take Rich Goodwin`s display over 2 dull grey Hornets on static any day.

Re: Shuttleworth Season Premiere- 5th May 2019
Mine cost £18.50 as an SVAS member. Excellent value, and I don't mind bunging SVAS a few quid (plus gift aiding it) each year in the knowledge they are a purely voluntary organisation, so a large proportion of their income each year is used to buy the aircraft spares for The Collection instead of b...

Re: Does anybody sketch aircraft? In addition to photograph
Greetings! I am in the throes of planning and making reservations for this event; my wife and I will be on holiday and I've blocked out time to attend this airshow. I like to sketch, as well as photograph, aircraft and usually try to strike a balance between these activities...

wasn't really sure where to post this, so apologies if this isn't the right place. Re: 2019 Show dates
The tedious Race Day is the one which should have gone, though given that a large number of the types that fit the theme are based there, it is a considerably cheaper theme to build a show round than, say, Fly Navy was... Having done Race Day once, that was plenty for me. I'll save my £35 that week...

Valley is a non-starter IMHO as the personnel live in Lincolnshire and a move to somewhere reasonably commutable will be a factor, not to mention the clash with MFTS training requirements in Wales. WHAT ? are you saying that military personal can decide where they live and work now. Are we really t...
