Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
Has anyone seen a schedule for the Austrian Typhoon demo that we saw in 2022? Would love to see that this year!

Re: Bournemouth Air Festival 2019
Is there a live feed on Saturday or Sunday.Planes Tv perhaps Thankyou Highly unlikely sadly (PlanesTV), can’t remember the last time they attended, maybe 2013? I’m fairly sure the Bournemouth Air Festival Team provide a livestream, the same feed that is put on to the screens on the beach. The link ...

Re: Bournemouth Air Festival 2019
As a local I always find the cliff top the best place Hi. Would you be able to give me the location/directions to this area please? I've never attended this show before, so are therefore not familiar with it. Many thanks in advance. As Paul has said, the clifftop is on East Overcliff Drive. There's...

Would love to hear the presenters give Phill O’Dell a chance to talk for more than 1 second rather than constantly interrupting him with childlike shouting/excitement

Re: Bournemouth Air Festival 2019
I haven't been to the Bournemouth show before. Anyone got any tips on the best vantage points? Is the VIP package worth the money? As a local I always find the cliff top the best place - not as busy, slightly more enthusiast-orientated than families, and for Aircraft that go to 100ft (Typhoon etc) ...

Departure Tickets Question
Good morning,
I missed out on getting departures tickets, and I know they sell a handful on the door.
I was just wondering what sort of time they sold out last year at P+V West? Any times regarding East too would be helpful!
TIA
Harvo

Re: RIAT 2019
By the sounds of it, it will be the same or at least very similar to the ‘Role Demo’ at RIAT in 2016 - few min-radius turns, fast pass and then a hover.

Although many may have already guessed the schedule for the RAF Typhoon is;
2x displays on Friday (1x Afternoon, 1x Dusk)
1x display on Saturday
1x display on Sunday
The jet will also be departing/returning Bournemouth Airport for a display in Dartmouth on the Saturday and Sunday

Re: Typhoon question?
Well, the Typhoon special scheme for 2019 has subtly been announced....via the brochure. In the 2019 brochure there is a photo of the Squadron Print for the year that depicts ZJ937 wearing a full red spine, full red tail with a large RAF roundel on the tail. If I knew how to post iPhone photos on he...

Re: Best Airshow That You Have Attended?
I'm quite young compared to most, so it's all recent shows for me! Sanicole 2017 was awesome, my first show outside the UK and it was just such a fantastic experience! I think Yeovilton and RIAT last year were really good shows but for me.....it has to be Shuttleworth Season Premiere 2018....I'd nev...

Re: RIAT 2019 wish list
I'd be surprised if that's actually what dbh had said. I'm not suggesting he didn't say it to you, or that he heard it himself, but I just think it's unlikely to have been what came from the horse's mouth originally. Well from what he said, DBH were content with the variation in their F16 displays ...

Re: RIAT 2019 wish list
My biggest realistic wishlist is the PACAF F-16 Demo, that was seen at Farnborough this year. Incredible, aggressive, fast-paced display that didn’t get enough publicity. When I spoke to the demo pilot he said that RIAT said they didn’t want the team there as there are too many F16 displays, which I...

Canards move together i.e. can't move individually, Foreplanes do move individually (the left can pitch differently to the right and vice versa)..

I think having the song 'Thunderstruck' suits any Fast jet display, but that's my opinion. Commentary can be great in the right hands (or voices), but that's another discussion, and thread.

Re: RAF roundel query
I did a Typhoon kit a while back and also wondered the same, so did a bit of research. What I gathered from it, is a mixture of 'low-vis' and also remembrance of the Second World War. Apparently the Hawker Typhoons and other aircraft once had a full colour roundel, but over many months of battle and...

Re: Belgian Air Force Days 2018 - 8th/9th Sept
The 4x F-16's were great last year - plenty of formation topsides/bellysides, straight passes, a break, synchro passes etc and a high speed formation vertical departure with flares popping
