Re: An12BP
For those that might be interested, we’re expecting a pair of An-12 again today. The first arrives around 0800. The second around 1330. Plus there is already atleast one An-26 on the ground that came in at 0100. We also currently have an SAS A330 doing daily freight flights to/from Brussels. It arri...

It has been glorious over the past week or so, sitting working at home to hear that soviet era drone as one of the two types took off. Nice distraction

We’re at the moment ramping up to 200,000 a day, in order to meet the target, that needs to be 400,000 within the next fortnight.
I can only see it being possible with the major hubs operating 24 hours with the GP surgeries operating normal hours plus weekends along side it.

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.
So we are what, 1.5 weeks since Christmas Day and the "relaxation" of regulations. Entering the prime period of seeing confirmed cases from that date and.... 68,053 cases today - a new record. It's sadly going to get worse over the next week, but will anyone in power admit how wrong they were to rel...

Perhaps most famous for playing the mild voiced Officer Hooks in the Police Academy series.

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.
Does anyone know why there were 80,000 cases reported on the 29th Dec? I assume that this was an anomaly from a Christmas backlog of non reporting days? It was 80,000 individuals who returned a positive test on the 29th - that includes both new and known cases (ie infected people being re-tested to...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.
The dataset you are (incorrectly) challenging or using to highlight your hypothesis is a stat on the number of tests undertaken not the number of people tested. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand the implication on how those two figures are going to differ. The 80,000 figure is simple too...

Re: New Russian 5th gen fighter
They’re now technically one company - the UAC.
MiG currently make the MiG-35 and the MiG-29K both of which have export orders, their only manufacturing plant also makes the Yak-130.
Russia are supposedly studying a new light weight fighter idea and if so, it’s likely that will be a MiG.

A previous chief government advisor is currently live on TV, Sir David King who now chairs the independent sage group. They have a press conference at 10. They are calling for a full national lockdown for a month immediately. They are saying the tiers won’t work and the lockdown must stay in place u...

Nightingale hospitals used staff from the local hospitals. If they're at capacity, there's no spare staff for Nightingales. Odd that the government never mentioned that... Many hospitals/trusts have tried to maintain a normal service alongside the Covid response which they didn't do during the firs...

41,000 new cases today and that is before the lag from the Christmas Day relaxation kicks in.
A full blown lockdown is now inevitable, I can't see the logic in the kids going back either.

Re: Proud to be British?
Lots of citizens assume their Government can get them released from foreign jail just by asking. But the honest truth is that no Government anywhere in the world has a stack of "get out of jail for free" cards for use when their citizens fall foul of a foreign Government's judicial system. The poin...

I'm in the same position leave wise, 20 days to use by end of March. I'll spend the time relaxing I think. Well no-one at the moment will be going to Europe after 31st December, the UK will be on the no-entry list except with good reason due to Covid. I've put back all confirmed foreign holidays unt...

The devil is going to be in the detail. Take driving in the EU for instance using your own vehicle From what we know so far, yes you are going to need a green card, yes you will need to carry your V5C, GB number plates will no longer be valid, you will need a GB sticker, and no you aren't going to n...

What did he say?
He said Germany had too much influence over us and didn't want to go to war as much as we did......

Even in announcing the deal, Boris lied to the people..... Boris Johnson claimed at his press conference that from 1 January “there will be no non-tariff barriers to trade”. But that’s not right. Non-tariff barriers are things like paperwork to be filled in or regulations that must be followed if tr...

Has anybody found data regarding where the infection in spreading - in terms of location so pubs, gyms, large shops, small shops, households etc. I can't help thinking that closing non-essential shops but keeping pubs serving food and gyms open could have been a good tier 2.5 given that the shops o...

The WHO said months ago that lockdowns don’t work No they didn't, that is a widely reported false statement coming from a deliberate misreporting of an interview in the Spectator by certain individuals/social media (Trump being one of them as he claimed it justified his stance). The WHO envoy said ...
