Re: Top Airshow Moments of 2021?

We did have a chat about doing one but many of the events had the same acts or were the same venues with repeated shows. Yes there were one or two stand out moments but there just weren't enough to really put together a good top 10. 2022 however will be different :-)

There's still more people in Hospital with COVID in England than there was on 5th January and the number in Hospital ove...

Re: The UKAR politics thread

It’s true that we don’t vote for the PM but the MP, but at the same time… we very much do. Which in my honest opinion is what is broken with our democracy and electoral system. At a GE we are voting for which MP we want to represent our values and views. Which is as it should be. However over the y...

Re: The UKAR politics thread

The issue is that there are 3.5 million people elligible to vote that don't have any type of ID. Mainly poor, ethnic minority or disabled communities. It means from now on you if you don't have valid ID for whatever reason (which could be that you can't actually afford to get some), you can't vote. ...

This is how the government are treating those that have served to protect us. Who’s father also served - if you’ve given years of your life to our military, that should grant you automatic citizenship or at the very least leave to stay for the rest of your life. It’s disgusting. https://twitter.com/...

The US Supreme Court has ruled that President Biden does not have the authority to instigate his vaccine mandate which required on all businesses with over 100 employees to require their staff to be vaccinated or to wear a mask and be weekly tested at their own expense. They did however say that he ...

Sunderland Airshow 2022 - CANCELLED

Sunderland City Council has announced that it is rethinking its events programme. This is in light of listening to residents' views around events through its Let's Talk consultation last August and also continuing uncertainty around Covid. The consultation was focussed around seeking residents view...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

That's all very good except one third of those catching COVID are asymptomatic but still infectious. The only way to find asymptomatic cases is through testing. If we aren't testing to identify and isolate asymptomatic cases those individuals (through no fault of their own) will be travelling around...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Roger is correct, the 28 day record for daily statistics began in Scotland and the rest of the UK had to be adjusted to suit. This change happened in late August 2020 and reduced the English daily death toll by over 5,700. The WHO required nations to report all instances of COVID where it is reporte...

Re: Valkyries & Rocketeers at RAF Lakenheath

If rumours are true, the last of the F-15C's with the 493rd will be gone by the end of February, some have already left and the next batch are the aircraft where the tail markings have been removed from. The 493rd will then stand down whilst it is re-equipped as the second F-35A unit at Lakenheath. ...

Thanks, we were very lucky with the sun popping out below the overcast.

Yeah, I walked down to just to the right of the runway and pressed my lens against the fence with the widest aperture set possible so that the wires weren’t visible.

Re: Belly Landing Saves South Korea F-35A

The F-16 had a high attrition rate in the early years and later too, in 1991 alone 36 aircraft were lost to mechanical issues. In early service it got the nickname "lawn dart".

The F-104 had a 30% attrition rate too.

Hi All, I spent an enjoyable day at Lakenheath yesterday with some gorgeous light up until around 2pm. The 495th are certainly throwing their new aircraft around in the circuit with some very low approaches and some fairly steep approaches from high altitude too. Here's a few from the day. Ta Andy h...

I would have thought it was really quite simple.... Search of NHS record - no jab recorded or extenuating medical reason - letters and reminders sent for XYZ period - NHS record still shows no jab - fines on an increasing scale until jabbed. As for destroying the rights of freeborn British citizens?...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

218,724 cases announced today which is a new record - this is being played down as it includes a backlog of cases from devolved nations.

However the "by specimen date" dataset has also been updated which is more telling.... there were 226,144 positive tests conducted on 29th December!
