Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

I have a "bomb trolley" but its not for shows like RIAT its more for Shuttleworth and Duxford - lets me cart a chair, my camera and a coolbox to the front from the car without struggling with everything on my shoulders :-) Come in very handy when at events alone. P.s. their offiicial name ...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

US military airshows are as, if not more, stringent - foreign nationals now have to go through separate security and give their fingerprints plus wear a lanyard saying they aren't a US citizen.

European shows can be a complete hodgepodge.

Re: Noise reduction options for Aviation photography

I understand why people are reluctant to subscribe but I've found it beneficial. Adobe haven't put the price up for a number of years (I've jinxed that now haven't I) but haven't sat on their laurels - new features are pushed out to subscribers with nearly every update. Many of which have been highl...

Re: Noise reduction options for Aviation photography

Only just spotted this thread. I used to use Topaz DeNoise. However, since Adobe released their AI DeNoise in Lightroom I have to be honest and say there is absolutely no reason to use any other software. It is simply superb. A quick snippet from an upcoming UKAR review..... this shot was taken RAW ...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

The FRIAT dedicated entrance is in effect contractual as it was advertised as such. In theory if it is removed you could claim a full refund and potentially any costs incurred. Except you buy your friat ticket on the basis you accept the RIAT terms and conditions which cover changes to the event an...

What are people realistically hoping for from this Thursdays update?
That the 4th July update isn’t subject to the election purdah and we get one.
Purdah is from 6 weeks before the election to election day (in effect until the 10pm on the 4th) it has 0 effect on the show participants.

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

Guys, I’ve deleted those images and the discussion. Whether they are genuine or not is a moot point. The risk is if they are. Part of DBH’s mantra of not announcing until fully confirmed is some nations place them under an NDA not to announce until a certain date. Therefore any internal documents ar...

Believe it was just a well planned flypast, heritage flight is usually flown but us pilots who attend training course early in the year along with ACC demo pilots this had neither
Correct, the USAF Heritage Flight is far more dynamic.

Re: Sywell Airshow 2024

Today, not at the show, but had to come along the A14 from the M1. Clear signage from 10 miles out from the A14/a43 junction. So I don’t get the thoughts about poor signage. Maybe they did not put signs to use the back routes because the didn’t want too many vehicles going through the villages. Com...

I believe that today's crowd was less than half of what would be at a Duxford Legends.
That doesn’t mean it was poorly attended. The showground was no-where near the size of Duxford. The success needs to be measured against the capacity of the venue, not Legends.

As someone who had premium parking we were directed to form a queue on the right hand side of the entrance, left side was supposed to be for general parking. Why else would you pay for premium. I also had premium and was there from 0730 we were told to form the main queue. Premium parking doesn’t m...

Have those commenting on the apparently low crowd attendance today
I disagree that there was a low crowd today.

The venue showground is actually quite small particularly down spotters corner. It couldnt't cope with many more today.

The worst (un)organised queuing system I've seen. Early arrivers formed an early queue along the hedge on the left. Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

The question isn't more if it is staying over the weekend, I'd take the wording as it is more likely than not. It is more is there space in the static park to accommodate it and that right now is not known (Pending cancellations.etc)
