From my understanding, the BBMF single engine fleet still aren't cleared for London overflights following the awful crash last year.

The RAF went to the trouble of providing a pilot to the BBC for the flypast who the BBC then didn’t use them for commentary. As a result and as expected the BBC once again hashed it up and called the final formation of Typhoons - Lightnings! That’s simply not good enough for the national broadcaster.

A validation is a safety approval that a display complies with UK display regulations and is safe to be performed at UK events.
