Re: Woodford: RAFA airshows of the 90's

Just wanted to say how much I am enjoying these threads at the moment. I started going to shows in the early to mid nineties. Looking back at these threads has made me realise how much I have actually seen, but but was too young appreciate at the time. So thank you for posting these and other photos.

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 - [Main Topic]

Hypothetical question. Last year cosford managed to get a flyby from a b52. Rumour has it that there are some bombers due in fairford for an exercise, over the next few weeks. What is the likelihood of a b17 / big bomber flyby. Wishful thinking I'm sure, but be one hell of a sight and being the 70th...

If you are looking for a specific, older model then ebay is probably best. Otherwise I tend to use jumblies or flying tigers. You can also get some real bargins at airshows. Hope this helps.

This was about the time I started going to airshows , as a child. I love these nostalgia threads, although looking back, I wish I'd have appreciated what I was seeing a bit more.

Although I wasn't there, it was great to see the photos of the gnat team at the Yorkshire airshow the other weekend. After what has been an awful year for them , it was great to see them back in the air.

What an interesting thread. Personally I think that the most likely would be the Shackleton. However, I'm sure a flying comet would be a real crowd pleaser for both the general public and the enthusiasts. Also, what about a Sunderland. On a smaller scale, given the buzz around the SAR whirlwind, wou...

I would agree with the great war display team. I always classed them as 'toilet break' item, but I sat and watched them at shoreham 2013 and was converted after that.

Thank you for posting these. This was a great show that will be remembered for the wrong reasons. I will always remember it for the fact that my dad paid for us to go up for a pleasure flight in a dc3. Oh how times change. I forgot all about the nut job who tried to stop the show :loser:

Is it worth mentioning that the twilight shoot for vulcan xm655 is £40 - 50, so in my eyes £20 is quite reasonable.

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2015 - [Official Thread]

How about a class jet theme:
Vulcan
gnats
midair squadron
classic air force
727 demo
Martin baker meteors
jaguar ground demo.
swedish historic flight
Dutch hunters.

Maybe a bit of gazelle action and a whirlwind.
Wishful thinking I think :snack:
