Re: Vulcan XH558 Air to Air - October 2015
Thank you all, quite taken aback by the response to these! Too many comments to reply to all, but to respond to a few questions: Wow, amazing shots. Going to sell any ? Hadn't really thought of selling any, but mainly because I don't have a commercial brain at all! Always happy to entertain offers t...

Vulcan XH558 Air to Air - October 2015
Back in October last year I had the chance to join the Aviation PhotoCrew for one of the last air to air sorties with XH558. We flew out of Duxford, met the Vulcan after it's final airshow display at Shuttleworth and then dragged in back past Newmarket and Cambridge. Less talking, more pictures for ...

7th SOS - Flying the CV-22B Osprey
Hi all, I had the incredible privilege back in April to join the 7th SOS at RAF Mildenhall for a sortie in one of their CV-22B Ospreys. 1. https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8772/18419683082_d69aa21318_b.jpg Bell-Boeing CV-22B Osprey 07-0033 - 7th Special Operations Squadron - United States Air Force by ...

Re: Sigma 150-600 S, handholding?
The Sigma 120-300 F/2.8 OSM which I use is 2.95kg, and that feels fine to handhold. I suppose you get used to the weight though, because my Canon 400 F/5.6 feels too light now!

Re: London Heathrow - 24th January 2015
Thanks guys! Alex - yes, I definitely agree they would be better if they were lit further from the front. I was actually surprised by how good the light was in the morning though, especially considering it was quite far round up the tail. Andy - slippery slope perhaps! I enjoyed the day, but I'm not...

London Heathrow - 24th January 2015
My first visit to Heathrow, on a bitterly cold Saturday. The weather was supposed to be fantastic and happily the forecast was spot on, so I headed over on the tube to Hatton Cross and spent the day at Myrtle Avenue. Everything I saw was new stuff to me, and as the light was so nice the selection he...

RAF Mildenhall 27th July - 3rd August 2014
Hi all, These are from a few quick trips down to Mildenhall over the last week - evenings in the hope of catching the CV-22s and weekends for the C-5s that have been about over the last week. 1. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5564/14734997236_58ce5bf235_o.jpg Lockheed C-5B Galaxy 87-0033 - 439th Air...

Non OS version was the one I meant
(Given both OS versions are still very new, the Non-OS is really the "old" one! Pedantic, me?)

It doesn't work on much. Only the following: Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM | C Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM | A Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM | S Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM | A Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM | A That's the new 120-300 f/2.8 by the way, not the old one. And even then it's the "new&quo...

Kecskemét International Airshow 2013
Hi all, A selection of my photos from what was, by a clear margin, the airshow of the year for me. I've still got one or two more shows (in the UK) to do, but I doubt they'll beat what the Hungarians managed! So many types and air forces I'd never seen, the bluest weekend for a long time and great c...

Re: Kecskemét Airshow, Hungary - 2013
Certainly agree with the comments about the show already - absolutely outstanding. Skyflash - can't comment on the organisation to get into the show (we were at the gates for 7AM each day and in within 30 minutes, but had private transport sorted with the 4Aviation tour). However, I think you are mi...

Exercise Joint Warrior 13-1 (45 Images)
I spent the first week of Joint Warrior 13-1 up at Lossiemouth, with a daytrip down to Leuchars to catch the French Navy contingent there. Here are a selection from what was a challenging, but ultimately extremely rewarding week. Monday 15th April: After picking up Chris from Elgin, the movements st...

Re: Dambusters Flypast vantage points
Are No 617 Sqn back from their travels? Or did they leave some crews behind for the event? 617 were supposed to be out in Alaska on an exercise, but never deployed due to sequestration curtailing the exercise (I think!). Certainly when I was at Lossie for Joint Warrior they were flying quite a lot.

Yep, this'll be good (just hoping the Greek does indeed confirm on the list).
Does anyone know how many people attended the last Spotters Day in 2011? 2,200 sounds like it'll be pretty busy!
