Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow

Another fine offering from Duxford, although the weather was all over the place. A few pictures from a windy Friday, a wet and relentlessly overcast Saturday and a rather better Sunday. 1. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1916/29991496167_a422b873da_o.jpg 1 2. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1952/29991...

Re: Saturday Evening at Old Warden

Thank you gents. Sorry I missed you Tim, I will pm you later. Nice to catch up again Dan and, re the dust spots - much less of an issue this time but I did get a few random ones. I've just rescued a couple of the Deperdussin that I thought might be of interest. 13. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/956...

Saturday Evening at Old Warden

After the season opener put on by the Shuttleworth Collection it seemed unreasonable to expect more of the same on Saturday evening. Perhaps we should take our current co-operation with the French a little further...

Re: Woodford Vulcan Marmite Shots

Very nice job!!

I have to agree about the HDR thing, they just look skilfully processed to me and capture the essence of the subject very well.

Well done.

Re: BoB Air Show - Runners and Riders

Thanks very much everyone for this info.
It might be an idea to do something like this on a more regular basis next season, in the absence of programme notes.
I hope I am not alone in thinking that the pilots should be acknowledged a bit more than they currently are.

BoB Air Show - Runners and Riders

I wonder if anyone out there has a list, or even a few notes that they could share, of who flew what on Sunday 24th at Duxford. I was a bit far from the PA and missed a lot of the commentary but would still like to caption some of my pictures. Thanks in advance for any help and a big thank you to al...

Duxford BoB Show, Sunday

With a great line up and a good weather forecast, I choose the Sunday to visit Duxford. No delays getting in, easy drive out and a thoroughly interesting morning before the flying began. As others have mentioned, it turned into a rather frustrating day from a photography point of view, poor light an...

A bit more Cosford

A few pictures from a memorable day out, in excellent company, at Cosford. One day the wind will die down a bit, I just hope it's sometime this year. As has been said, it does cause problems with photography and, combined with tricky light, meant far fewer clicks on Sunday. On the up side, it was ni...

Re: Sea Vixen XP924 Thread

I wonder if someone on here could clarify the law, with regard to air band scanners. I was under the impression that it was more or less ok to use them, provided that you did not discuss or divulge anything that was heard whilst listening. If this is the case, then selectively quoting the transmissi...

I wish! Actually taken from a gateway on Grange Road with a Tamron 150-600mm fully extended and then heavily cropped.
But yes, the road will be closed at the weekend.

Re: A bit more Abingdon

Thanks Dan. The light was pretty good for the morning arrivals. By the look of your pictures from North Weald, especially the Huey, you had nice weather all day. Sdad, I was only there on the Sunday. The C-47 came in at 8.50, while we were waiting to park up, but from about 9.30 there was a steady s...

A bit more Abingdon

The new layout seemed to work quite well, but the light, for pictures, was always going to be best in the morning. Not as easy to move around the crowdline as in previous years. The walk around the outside of the static parking area just took up too much time so most of the day was spent at the Nort...

London to Brighton Veteran Car Run. Sunday Nov 6th

A few pictures from the annual veteran car run. Plenty of sunshine this year, although it was probably a bit cold for the hardy motorists. 1. https://c3.staticflickr.com/6/5667/30782648682_4536c7d27a_o.jpg 1 1901 Panhard Levassor.
