https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-dorset-67415520 Bournemouth's council should not fund the town's free seafront air show beyond next year, a report has said. Councillors are being asked to agree £200,000 for 2024's event, which will be three days instead of four. A report said a new-look festiva...

Re: Duxford Summer Air Show 2023 - 24th & 25th June

Appreciate the sarcasm (but i’ll be going Cosford, RIAT & Radom). But considering Duxford in the past have had the Rafale, Patrouille De France, ACC demos/heritage flight, Belgian F-16, Patrouille Suisse (Swiss F-18 once confirmed show didn’t go ahead) & Czech Hip/Hind (also Czech Gripen/Al...

Re: Duxford Summer Air Show - 18th & 19th June

Word from an IWM volunteer is that "the powers that be" insisted on no pyros as it would potentially upset some attendees given the situation in Ukraine... absolute lunacy. People are too soft and easily offended these days. Much of the outrage and upset is orchestrated by the media. Divi...

Sad for all concerned :slight_frown: .... especially the disappointed children, and the traders who rely on these events.

Re: British Phantom Aviation Group (Official Topic)

At 5am on 2nd October 2019, XT597 left Bentwaters Park at the start of a 200 mile journey to a new home in the East Midlands. The aircraft has sat, unclaimed and unwanted, at the Suffolk site for seven years but has been on the BPAG’s wish list since 2017. We are therefore delighted that this wish ...

Re: Flying Legends 2019

I enjoyed the Sunday show ... I thought it was good overall. The memorable parts IMHO were: 1) The first display, with Spitfires flying past constantly for five minutes .... the guys at the Land Warfare end must have had a great view of the aircraft swooping in? 2) The DH9's sound ..... that engine ...

The knife edge came a bit close? He had just completed a series of manueuvres that involved tumbling ...

Dunsfold was the nearest airshow to my home town.... so this is a very sad development. I will miss the laid-back feel, and the format.

As I drove to Duxford today, I was greeted with heavy rain on the M25 ... I could barely see the lane markings. I was pretty downcast at this stage. Thankfully, the weather gradually improves after midday .... and kept getting better! I actually felt the heat of the Sun ....

Great show!

Wings and Wheels (Saturday) was good. It would have been better with the Typhoon or something similar, but I'm pleased with the show. I really enjoyed the VC-10 engine run!!

I went yesterday - I enjoyed it, but the weather didn't want to play ball! As ever, the staff were friendly . I had access to the Viewing Village ... the grass area offered a fairly good view!

I'm glad the weather was better today!!
