IWM Duxford Transferring Land Warfare Hall Contents to Pima?
A friend recently sent me this link - I appreciate its not historic aviation but may have implications for the rest of the collection! https://webcms.pima.gov/UserFiles/Servers/Server_6/File/Government/Administration/CHHmemosFor%20Web/2021/February/bd-Expansion%20of%20the%20Pima%20Air%20and%20Space%...

Re: Anyone room for a V bomber cockpit?
Surely the suggested price is bonkers- I would have thought each cockpit would be 15kISH - the Nimrod fuse from Scotland was around 12k and was complete - then the Hunter was about 10 and the Buccs 15k IIRC - plus you need to add in the buyers premium and VAT etc - and move the damn things - and res...

Re: DH Chipmunk WK640/G-BWUV Restoration Project
This is excellent stuff - our own Chippax has been put to very good use with our younger visitors and I agree the SYAM Scout idea is genius. I might suggest though that you put a PR out to the LAA as well as FP etc for Chippie bits - there are of course many flyers and the front of a scrapped canopy...

Re: RAFM disposals
oooor to accentuate the positive 1) shows people are aware of Newark' Air Museum 2) believe you to be good custodians/ have a good reputation 3) people want to help. Tis ever this - I get bizarre requests all the time via the museum phone number and email address - many for the aerodrome proper - my...

Re: RAFM disposals
I fully appreciate the debate aspect, in this case elsewhere about 'supposed' disposals, that may or may not be happening. As someone who almost lost a hard-won delivery location for a Saab Viggen aircraft, due to speculation and 'debate' based on 100% wrong 'inside' information, I tend to be a bit...

I suspect Howard disposal of 25 airframes from a National collection may well stimulate some opinions and debate - thats what fora are for!!

Amazing resource of private WW2 aircraft photos - mainly SAAF - check it out!
Am sure many of you will have seen this before but if not you can happily while away the hours here with these collections of private albums- Hurris, Tomahawks, Kittyhawks, Spitfires, Harts, Tiger Moths, B-24s, even a Puss Moth! PLUS loads of captured Axis aircraft before and after their repaint int...

It’s his short hand for shooting enemy aircraft down. It made me chuckle each time he wrote it because I am juvenile

I think he was quite a marmite character TBH - certainly a brave chap but ruthless as well. His autobiography mentions 'waxing a lot of fannies' with Bud Anderson

Good for Newark
Weird that the Council spent money on getting it flying only to bench it shortly afterwards following no public displays!
