That is bad news... some nice airframes there I haven't seen.

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
I should think burning a DVD copy of the VAT for personal use at home would be okay. Who is really going to know? At some point it will probably fall off YouTube and be forgotten. Might be a different matter if flogging copies at the local market however. Del Boy!! And if VAT 2021 becomes a thing th...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
I am living in The Netherlands, and carried over my ticket+bus[not FRIAT], to this year. I am 67 and at the moment I do not know when I will get my Covid vaccination,at the current time I need a negative test to be able to travel to the UK,then 14 days quarantine and 2 negative tests, and then anothe...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
On top of that, you have the issue of the product we are going to get for our money. This is a worry too. £200+ for FRIAT, £100s on accomodation, fuel, food, etc, for a potentially sub par product is not good. Of course that's a concern to people. I've had £200+ locked in FRIAT and £150 in Kempsfor...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
Well, the Patrouille Suisse are always able to put on a show, even if it's raining. So assuming the Virtual RIAT 2021 goes ahead, we can count on them for entertainment even if it's not actually in the sky over Gloucestershire!

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
From what I've heard , there are already offers of aircraft for the show, but they are not being publicized until it's clear the event can go ahead. Love this kind of post, it's so helpful  about as helpful as this one - I do realise that... Even if you had nothing from other counties and went ...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
As a FRIATer, a Typhoon, Red Arrows and a funfair (and some RAF Halton gliders) - as much as I 'love the sum of all their parts' does not a RIAT make. That's not what I permitted my RIAT 2020 package money to be carried over into 2021 for if I am being honest. Yeah, probably sounds ungrateful etc, a...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
I'm with Tommy on this - whilst no news is often met with 'nothing to worry about,' I think in this case, it's important for people already invested in this event (the rolled over FRIAT packages etc) to be honest and up front about progress, what to expect and what can be done if either a) the event...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
They are saying Autumn for everyone to be vaccinated now. Given under 50s is the last group, that might be a big hit on RIAT attendees if RIAT insist on a vaccine before entry? Also, a lot of places are saying a negative test no more than 3 days before. If that happens for RIAT, how would that work...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
After last night's Whitty and Boris show, I have been left with the feeling that although they are trying to give us good news (a vaccine is here, hooray), they always underline that good news with future terror - Mr Whitty making it quite clear that even with a vaccine, next winter (just 10 months ...

Re: RIAT 50th Anniversary Book
My copy has arrived today... Very heavy and satisfying to hold in your hand (s). Exterior of the hard-backed book is very high quality. I appreciate the hard work that must have gone into producing the book.. I was however surprised with the format of the book interior - it is like leafing through a...

Re: Chuck Yeager
He outright called Eric Brown a fraud and a liar and said that the UK contributed nothing to the war. Hard to find respect for him, to be honest. I'm glad someone else was thinking it! +1... I remained really quiet over it. One of those times where if 'you can't say anything nice, don't say it' app...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.
Well the precedent is there now. The lockdowns and restrictions will continue until there is either a vaccine, or they decide enough is enough and 'let it rip.' Of course, no right minded politician (not one that would seek to be re-elected in the future anyway) would ever agree to the 'blood on the...

Re: 2021 Airshows
'We'll have the virus beaten by Spring 2021...' effectively claimed Boris. Back in March, I think his crowd said the same about 'returning to normal' by Autumn 2020. They'll just keep moving the short-term goalposts to stop people going bonkers with angst and despair because at the end of the day, t...

Re: Possible format for RIAT2021
As a previous responder in this thread, one of the other things that has come to mind under Covid is the security 'pat-down' for any event operating under public health restrictions. So many 'un-washed' civilians to process onto the base. Bag searches, pat downs, electronic wands etc. RIAT is my Chr...

Re: Possible format for RIAT2021
With the current 'whack a mole' in and out deployment of restrictions, I would be amazed that a charitable event (with so much initial outlay to put the event on) like RIAT 2021 would even get off the drawing board. Far too much financial risk just now with how things are. With the greatest of respe...

Re: Aircraft storage question.
All of the BA aircraft from LHR to Bournemouth came straight here. None went via Glasgow. I don't mean they landed at Glasgow. Can't find any examples now, but check out this Virgin flight on Tuesday: m LHR-LHR via a turnpoint near Glasgow. Occam - I'll back you up on this, I saw a British Airways ...

I saw this too Boff, an interesting development for certain should it come to fruition...
As sad as it will be to lose the Tonkas, the thought of super-bugs/growlers is happy news for me. Love F-18s... and the super-bugs are... well... bae.

Just been on Sky News (yeah, I know), UK Government has received a report from SAGE (collective of scientists about emergencies such as this) that states that we should plan for social distancing to be around for up to a year. With an arrest today on the Isle of Man for not self isolating, I think t...

Yes, many thanks for your updates Boff... I was out on a trip that covered Red Flag (last week) and was scheduled to take in Yuma show, El Centro show, Luke show and Lancaster Fox Field, along with an overflight of the boneyard/bus trip round it. The US quickly started to fold up on itself and the r...

Wow... great to see the pedantry ejaculation very much alive and well on UKAR. Take a bow. I've spoken to Greek people quite regularly as part of a different interest thank you very much. Argus - a SAAB design isn't it? I think the Swedish AF brought one to RIAT around the turn of the century if memory serves correct. A strange looking contraption on the roof I thought at the time... but then the Wedgetail caught my eye. I think the Greeks brought an Argus over in 2013 too? I remembe...
