Singapore Airshow

Hello all, I don't believe that there has ever been a UKAR forum for the Singapore Airshow. As it's the third most important trade show in the world, I think it's time we made one. This year's event will be from 16th-21st Feb, with on-site rehearsals starting on the 10th of Feb. The flying display i...

Re: RIAT 2015 - The Feedback

My thoughts on RIAT '15: FLYING DISPLAY Mostly very good. Variety was second-to-none, with enough noise and enough rarities and enough changes of pace to keep me engaged the whole time. Thought the Tornado flypast was a bit of a waste and the BoB section could have been better (could have at least g...

Re: RIAT 2015

Gazebos/tents. As others have pointed out. (They didn't effect me personally as I watched the flying from an enclosure and walked around the rest of the time) not going to repeat what others have said but the crowd-line space lost (that lost space increasing, the further forward they are positioned...

Re: RIAT 2015

Superb day, good weather, excellent variety and quality in the flying, didn't once get stuck in traffic. Now that's what I call a success!

Re: RIAT 2015

Certainly thought the BoB tribute could have involved a lot more, the commentary for it however was superb though. What did it comprise of? Formation passes or a set piece of some kind? And please say that they didn't play music over all of it! Scramble take off, Benheim solo, balbo in 4 sections, ...

Re: RIAT 2015

All this sudden speculation about the Flankers is indeed intriguing, almost to the point where it's worth thinking there's something in it...

Note careful use of the word "almost."

According to the main RIAT thread, it's a take-off, two passes and landing.

And thanks for the thread Andy, second-best thing to being there.

Re: RIAT 2015

Sorry, UTD1, but are you seriously asking that crews who have flown halfway around the world go the expense and hassle to divert to another air base for the night, just so you can see both arrive, even though there's one flying anyway? Got to be honest, that sounds pretty spoilt, to me. Anyway, if ...

Re: RIAT 2015

If indeed the P1s arrive at Fairford tomorrow how about on Wed or Thurs they taxi both aircraft to both ends of the runway to give us PAYING CUSTOMERS in both P&V areas the chance to get some clear shots, just a thought and great PR. Well they'll probably rehearse/validate at some point anyway,...

However, as I understand it, it is only Friday when we'll be able to get up close to those aircraft as you can access some of the ramp areas that day.

Re: RIAT 2015

I also don't think it would work because a) they already have people paying £3 per month to watch ALL their streams. They'd rightfully be quite miffed about PPV. I don't think PTV has anything to say about what is charged to who, as this is all managed by DBH. Very true, but even so, PTV subscriber...

Re: RIAT 2015

Thoughts on charging £10 for the live stream? Not sure about either the cost - £10 for the weekend would be a better place to introduce the PPV model IMO - or the production quality that planes TV will be able to deliver throughout the event. People will want more than shots of the burger van for p...

Last year I barely looked at the static but pitched up fairly early for a front row seat near the grandstand in the Green section. This year I really want a good look at the static, I was wondering if anyone manages to fit in the whole walk looking at everything in after the flying display? Hi Osca...
