Re: Golden hour at Lakenheath

Love those pics mate and the light is sublime.

I was down the Lake 10 days ago and found the amount of mission marks on the 16's impressive.

Today at Dunmail Raise

Hi chaps, Spent rather a quiet day today at this location, and it was saved by 5 x American F-16's..... a single folowed by a pair then another pair (about 10-15 mins between 'flights') However they were high and i could not get any decent pics (also into the sun) to be able to identify each one. Ca...

Re: Aviation- On This Day

I went on the Sunday, as my lift ( a tech sarg. on F-111's at Upper Heyford) could only do that day. Loved the 29 display, and the 124 wasnt too shabby either, blowing the 2 bobbies helmets off as it pulled up and to the right. What a great show that was for my first one. Unfortunately they all coul...

Excercise problems?

Just notices sailors aboard the QE Carrier have been tested positive for Covid 19, and the ship may go on lock down.

Bearing in mind that a dual forces excercise is about to take place, do we think this may affect things?

Chinese Military Aviation Museum, Beijing video's

Hi, sorry for the shameless plug, and apologies if this is in the wrong area. In 2010/2011 i visited China on a round robin tourist thing, you know...great wall, terracotta army etc. Saw lots of retired fighters in college grounds, or schools, heard the Chinese Xian H-6's taking off from their base ...

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?

No, by the new owners, who purchased the business and the lease on the airfield. The old owners were the Walton family and Dave Walton is still looking into creating a museum/storage area for the airframes that are owned by him. Unfortunately the VC10s are not included in those plans. Ah, but i bel...

The one at Torrance/Hawthorne can be photographed, if you ask the body shop across the road, more often then not they let you use their fire escape stairs to get above them.

It is parked with the YF-17 prototype and a very nice F-14.
The YF-17 is a gorgeous aircraft, saw it in 2009. nice!

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?

Can anyone clarify for me.....

Did David Walton own the whole sight? Or was it thathe merely had shared ownership with other members of his family?

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?

With the apparent need for lots of housing in this country and airfields closed or dormant being eyes up for such ventures, you can practically guarantee that given a pot load of cash, Brunty may just go under tarmac and brick. I saw a green belt field on the edge of a northern town (one which has p...

yup, i for one, despite pleading (almost on a daily basis) for Brunty to have the tin triangle languishing next to a crap farm in south yorkshire, realise it has, despite the passing years since it did practically anything, dodged the bullet. Unfortunately i cannot now see any future for Brunty, and...

I had the most horrible of horrible versions in the OM30!

went through 4 different ones (in 6 weeks) before exchanging it for a Minolta.
It was a dog and had, apparently, a known focus and shutter problem.
