Fat Amy plodding around the sky for 10 minutes (5 of those transitioning to a hover), lord no! Let it stop, and get a Harrier to do the job. Hover, go backwards, bow, Viffing.
Sorry, but a loo break time for me.

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
JMC, you can be whatever and whoever you want! 'Got to happen one day' doesnt mean this year, next or anytime soon. Yup, there's a war on, and i hope that the more level heads than those that have prevailed to date, get round a table for a batch of 'jaw jaw, not war war' sooner than later. Meanwhile...

Sneaky Egyptian (?) prop aircraft ident please?
Yesterday (9th Feb) i was lucky enough to see and photograph a single engined turbo-prop aircraft that turned up on approach to Hurgada (Egypt) airport. It had wing tanks and paddles top and bottom, and looked like a 'sneaky' bird. Anyone here know what i saw please, and indeed is there any way of f...

'The face of things to come'
Firstly, apologies to the mods if you feel this is in an incorrect location but i shall try to keep on subject, and that is RIAT, and the seeming possibility of RIAT becoming very 'sterile' in the next 5-10 years. With the USA, now supplying seemingly anyone and everyone with the F-35 and it's versi...

Proposed West coast trip in late Jan 2025
I am proposing a West coast trip in late January 2025 to coincide with 2-3 days at Nellis Red Flag 25-1 This trip will include 2-3 days at Sidewinder, north of Bakersfield for some low level 'in the valley' fast jet action. Seen in the last year through Sidewinder include F-16's, F-18's, T-38's, F-1...

Re: South West USA 2024
I shall be up a hill for a few days, north of Bakersfield, for some 'Son of Rainbow Canyon' action.
Then maybe North island, Chino, Nellis, and back to North of Bakersfield.

Isnt the big bottom in the sky noted as possible for 2027?
3 hopes and 1 of them is Bob, the other Maurice and the last is No.
Damn thing is huge. i remember seeing it over Cardington one early evening...... from...... March in the Fens!
With gloucestershire 'breezes' i doubt we will ever see it.

I think you'll find that 'Evri' will be delivering the rotor blades sometime mid January, minus the 3 that they damaged in transit and the 1 they threw into your back garden!

Thanks chaps, I think i've now got the Meatbox, canberra and Phantom, your help is much appreciated. Here's another question or 2 if i may? I remember coming off the M6 motorway at Carlisle (same decade i think) turning left, then at the lights turning right and about 2 miles on, on this 'side road'...

Llanbedr (Mid 80's) Aircraft serials wanted
Hi, In my job in the 80's i travelled extensively around the UK, but only passed Llanbedr once, and from the main road noticed 3 aircraft on the far side that i haven't managed to identified. 1) A grey Canberra, with a red rear fuselage band, and black and white striped undersides 2) A grey Phantom ...
