Re: another one bites the dust - Brunty's Super Guppy to be cut up

While i'm sure David Walton will produce a good museum for his few aircraft, the ones that are leaving , or in this case along with the VC10's to go, scrapped will create a void that before had Brunty as 'The' Place to go, but now, or very soon, its just a small so so museum with a few planes off th...

JSDF 301squadron gone?

Just had a pop up of my face thingy to say that yesterday was the last day for the JASDF 301 squadron Flying the F-4 finished yesterday?

Am i having a 'mandella' moment or did it finish?

Either way, anyone know if the test F-4 will be finishing flying once it's all over?

Re: VTTS purchase another Canberra

You mean another one to sit next to the sewage works deteriorating slowly, while they try and raise cash for 163 (wasnt so long ago that was flying was it?) However, putting 163 back together , whenever that happens, using its original nose, does have merit. shame if they dont bring the whole airfra...

Re: Blackburn Beverley anyone?

just looking on googlecearth for a decent route from Paull to Birchwood Lodge it looks feasible to avoid low bridges. some through town messing about looks probable, but it does, if my old eyes dont deceive me, looks as thiugh it could be shifted as 1 piece. Mind you, would more people visit it at B...

Re: Blackburn Beverley anyone?

Fuselage as a single piece in the move? Wow, ok, i see the idea behind that, but does anyone know just how big the fuselage is? Will it fit under any bridges en route? Bridge standard is 16ft 6inches (clearance) Wiki has the height as 38ft 9inches, which i would imagine is to the top of the tail fin...

For what exactly?
For putting his hand deep in his pocket and securing a museum area so many of the airframes are safe??
Didnt he own that area, after the long term lease was sold to the car guys?

Time flies (mods please lock)

Yesterday marked the 5th anniversary since a certain aircraft last had air under its wings and then returning to its Doncaster home.

Not after comments, just nice to mark the 5th anniversary since the old girl gave us such memories for the last time.

Re: Big jet TV YouTube channel

Trolling is a hateful thing done by social inadequates and people with 'problems'. I dont like BJTV's work, it seems to me like the filming guy needs lessons in......well, filming, and the narration needs to have a grip on the subject. Remember Raymond Baxter's Farnborough commentaries? Unfortunatel...

Re: Blackburn Beverley anyone?

Whilst i appreciate all comments for and against, can i just point out that at the moment, it's a big lump of metal sitting on a third parties ground, that needs a large chunk of cash from the public to dismantle, ship, and reassemble. Until this happens, especially if the previous owner serves evic...

Re: Blackburn Beverley anyone?

Totally agree, the guy paid for it, it's his to do with what he wants......however.... There is no doubt that it will have to leave its current position to another of the owners choosing, but the owner will need to pay for its removal in kit form and re assembly. So even if anyone else would have pu...

Re: Blackburn Beverley anyone?

So we pay via a crowdfunding excercise to move and re assemble the aircraft, so that someone can make money by renting it as an air BnB? Apart from 'saving' (and i use that word carefully) the aircraft on a field with presumably limited access, what do the crowdfunders get? It aint exactly Tom Moore...

Having only seen 1 skyhawk fly (Whitmund for the last flight of the Phantoms a few years back), that one did howl. and i put it down to drop tanks causing the air to crate a howl as i couldnt think what else is was. Today at Dunmail Raise

Hi chaps, Spent rather a quiet day today at this location, and it was saved by 5 x American F-16's..... a single folowed by a pair then another pair (about 10-15 mins between 'flights') However they were high and i could not get any decent pics (also into the sun) to be able to identify each one. Ca...
