RIAT '23

Thought I'd share a handful of images from my time at the show this year, particularly enjoyed the moody backdrops that made for some interesting photos and nice lighting. Some taken on the airfield and some from Flyby Camping. Shot with Nikon Z6ii & Nikon Z 800mm f6.3 https://live.staticflickr....

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2018

Evening people,

Did anyway use the Babraham park and ride today? Seems short sighted that the show ground opens at 0730 but the first park and ride isnt until 0856.
It’s my first Duxford and from what you guys have said I’m concerned I’ll miss the start of the show because of the traffic.

Bruntingthorpe August 2018

A very wet Brunty and despite being clad head to toe in waterproofs I still caught a cold, yay me! Still enjoyed it though! Real shame about the Hunter, those guys did not have a good day at all. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1870/42500738030_440098e6ee_b.jpg CWJ DSC_3951 by James Peebles , on Flic...

is it worth watching the show from St. Aubin itself or is it too far away? Not really a fan of having the sun in my face like last year and I spent most of it cleaning salt off my camera.

There’s also a mound that runs along the eastern end of the airfield which is popular for viewing. I’ve always found the crowd line a bun fight there.

Thanks guys, the Tonka shot was the only one that came out usable from that pass so I’m happy with it, as I am with the B2 and being able to pick out the detail on the underside, something I’ve not captured before

And the bloody Red Arrows, to me on the Fairford stage just another act. Yet they appear to have god -like status. Every year other teams are much much better, and then they bow and scrape to them to leave them on the runway for a slot, thus interfering with other acts and timings (Namely the Ospre...

Positives: I queued for just 5 minutes to get into the show ground at the red entrance Pimms enclosure was as good as ever (despite running out of pies) Air Tattoo Crew were a hell of a lot friendlier and more polite at the end of the show this year.
