Re: Southport 2019

Really enjoyed the show. Lots of nice displays and the weather was good too. Perhaps the only disappointment was the 'star' for me in the Viggen. The sun positioning I can deal with but it was just so high. Shame when you get to see such a rare beast and it disappoints. Well done to Southport though...

Re: RIAT 2019

The review pretty much nails my thoughts on the show. The saturday was a superb day of flying and was amomgst the best single days of airshows I've ever had. It's just other bits - easy bits - that were frustrating... and the static being the biggest frustration. It felt smaller than in recent years...

Re: Sunderland airshow 2019

Been watching the video. The camerawork of the flying is fine I think, but I can't imagine either PlanesTV or the pilots enjoying the weather! Looks quite horrible there. Sorry, I should have specified that at the time of posting that, they had a cheesy DJ playing 00's 'bangers' while there was no ...

Re: RIAT Arrivals... LIVE! 2019

For all the weather forecasts, PR build up, the peeing and moaning on this messageboard, my AirBnB getting cancelled on Monday and costing me even more money to find somewhere else... All putting a bit of a downer of RIAT 2019 BUT this last page in this thread has now got me really looking forward t...

Re: RIAT 2019

Have there been any more developments with regards to the Spanish Harriers and the comment about Sunday being a single? Has that been confirmed anywhere? Was it a tongue in cheek remark made at Yeovilton? I'm Mach 3 FRIAT, so it makes no real odds of difference to me... but #askingforafriend RIAT c...

Re: RIAT 2019

They would've been better saving the French update to go with this one. Such a m'eh update close to the show. Wouldn't surprise me if it's because we are seeing the end of Thursday updates for next year and when they annouce, the AVgeeks will say ' nothing good was announced last year on Thursday's...

Isn't that more to do with the fact that they can display over sea but not over land?

Re: Royal Navy International Air Day 2019

I went to Yeovilton this year for the first time in quite a few years. Have to say that I was really quite disappointed, it was not the show of fond memory. I won't be going again. Went for the first time this year and had a great day. 300 mile round trip too. The weather definitely helped but thou...

Re: RIAT 2018 discussion

I've no issue with keeping a tight schedule but when its a show stopper like clearly the B2 is then I think they really ought to make the most of it. The time and fuel spent out over Oxfordshire could feasibly have been spent over Fairford. Was anyone even watching the Chinook? I agree on this - di...

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2018 - [Main Topic]

Yep, just sat here in my camping chair in that car park and for all the complaints people will direct at Cosford, watching people's behaviour as they try to leave is entertaining but at the same time saddening. Great show though- Peter and his team put on a great show with amazing static displays, a...

Re: RIAT 2018 discussion

Also, have to say I'm a little surprised that there was no announcement from Belgium yet. I wonder if it's because they will also make a heavy contribution beyond just the F-16 display and that they're waiting to confirm the lot as they appear to have done with Italy today. I think the fact that Co...

Sad news indeed.

Certainly a man who I used to enjoy seeing at FRIAT and was always cracking jokes and bringing a smile to the face of all those in the stand. It would be very fitting to recognise Peter at this years show in some way and renaming an award is a great idea.

Re: RIAT 2018 discussion

Very nice. Edit: It's a shame that RIAT's "latest updates" page is.... I think this is probably to do with how much more intense places like FB and Twitter have made interpretation and opinion. There might be some right grumpies on here but, for the most part it is controlled, sensible co...
