Re: Red Arrows flypast of Edinburgh as part of VJ Day
So do we think flypasts over London and Cardiff are also in the pipeline?

Re: BA retires entire Boeing 747 fleet
Just to add my 2p - I doubt the runway is long enough to land at Duxford. The B-52 arrived prior to the M11 when the runway was longer, and there’s a claim that even with that it was the shortest runway a B-52 has ever landed on.

NHS Spitfire flypasts Sunday (Herts, Beds, Cambs)
The ARCo ‘Thank you NHS’ Spitfire is doing some flypasts of Herts, Beds & Cambs hospitals on Sunday. Timetable a little bit down this page:-

Re: ZH005
ZH005 Islander of the Army Air Corps seems to be on a jaunt across England, took off from Aldergrove, just over the top of us in North Kent. Damnit, flew literally straight over my house (East Herts) v low, assumed it was some civilian plane, and had twigged it was an Islander which I thought was a...

Re: What do the Red Arrows do this year?
Interesting comment on Twitter last night - apparently one of the Red Arrows dropped in at Stansted yesterday, which is a little unusual? If they can't do mass flypasts maybe solo/pairs flypasts? Could they send the synchro pair out to draw hearts in the skies?

Re: What do the Red Arrows do this year?
OK I'll rise to the bait since you think I've asked a silly question - what can the Reds actually do, realistically? With social distancing measures you could argue they shouldn't really be displaying, or even doing pre-advertised flypasts, for fear of creating a gathering of people. And they can't ...

What do the Red Arrows do this year?
Regardless of whether or not you're a fan, it does strike me that there's not much point in the Red Arrows training this year - no RIAT, no Yeovilton and no doubt many more cancellations to come. What can the Red Arrows actually do this year - I did think of flypasts although would likely encourage ...

Anyone else curious as to what today's 'big' announcement was going to be? Assume something like a C-130 / A400 / Lancaster flypast.

Re: Jet Fest - North Weald 27-29 September 2019
I've gone from being very excited about this to being pretty bemused... Talk about having a great theme and not sticking to it. The more the merrier - loads of vintage jets plus lots of other bonus aircraft - what's not to like? Some of the types I've never seen flying before. I for one am really l...

Only one flypast confirmed tomorrow, the one involving eight spinning propellers. Sadly no NATO, 747/Reds or PDF/Reds tomorrow. Rumours suggest a B2 might put in an appearance although no confirmation of this from RIAT.

I should caveat this post and say that I'm going to RIAT for the first time this year, on Sunday (was lucky enough to inherit a ticket gratis), so have no previous experience to draw on. Very much looking forward to it, although I can't help thinking events are transpiring that aren't going to help ...

Re: Flying Legends 2019
Hi all,
I currently have Friday booked off, and was thinking of going to Duxford (not far from me) in the hope of seeing some aircraft flying - I'm wondering, however, if there won't be much going on. If anyone's been on the Friday before an airshow was there much activity?
Cheers,

Re: Military Airshow 7th July
Excellent show today - like others highlight was the 7 Hurricanes and in the presence of one of the surviving 'few' made it especially poignant. Thought the RJF were excellent, the Edwardians a nice bonus. Frankly the best show I've been to at Old Warden. Felt like it was nearly a sell out too, so g...

Re: Military Airshow 7th July
so as it's my first old warden show I'm looking for advice. someone told me that i wouldn't need my 150-600. would i get away with my 70-300? I use a 70-300. It's enough for the runway and most passes, but the extra reach will open up more options for you. i'll just stick with the 150-600 then. if ...
