Furzey Hill Park and View open RIAT 2022

Hi guys Just for your information Furzey Hill park and view is open for this RIAT 2022. A new group is running it this year and the older website and facebook pages are now defunct. From the new owner of the site: "[/b] "We are so excited Riat is on it's way - come and enjoy it at Furzey H...

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread

Re the Swedish......What would be nice is either a missed approach ot t&g on arrival, or tower giving them a chance to give us side views at our level (FRIAT) on departures day. I just want to hear what the Viggen sounds like in afterburner, judging by videos it sounds a lot deeper than most! I...

Re: Southport 2019

On to the flying fairly underwhelming performances from the Swedes, very high - BUT still amazing to see a flying Viggen at Southport. Going to Blackpool airport tomorrow to catch it taking off twice, 1st for display and secondly takeoff back home at 4pm. I would like to do this too, how close can ...

Re: RIAT 2019

I'm counting 10 fast jet solos (including Harrier duo) which is what, 6 or so fewer compared to the previous 2 years of shows with different running orders. Therefore I'm hoping Sat and Sun get them all (bar the BAF F-16 Sun) and all the display teams and the like are alternated instead, not sure i...

Re: RIAT 2019

Lose the Friday display and arrivals can be done Thursday and Friday. One less day off work, one less evening meal, night in a hotel and away from the family. And much busier arrivals days. For the last few years not much (if anything significant IIRC) has arrived or rehearsed on Friday either, mos...

Re: RIAT 2019

I just watched the RDAF F-16 display on the Luchtmachtdagen livestream, what a display! Forgive me if already been covered but has the RDAF F-16 solo been confirmed as a no show for this year? Or is there still hope? It reminds me of the aggressive F-16 solos from years gone by, I'd love to see it a...

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2019 - Sunday 9th June 2019

A strong Cosford for sure. The highlight for me was probably the Sea Fury, just a brilliant display. I cannot agree so much on the F-18 solo however, I've seen the Swiss (and Finns) put on a much more aggressive and 'afterburning solo' than that but I'm thinking Albrighton may have played a part in ...

Given the FJs all rehearsed last year on the Saturday, having arrived on Thursday and Friday, what do you guys think is more likely for their rehearsals? Saturday or Friday? I have Friday off (booked ages ago for this reason), also attending Sunday but as this is the only Airshow that is anywhere ne...

Well that would be a surprise considering they've been gone for 15 years.

If that is coming I'm hoping for a late confirmation of a German Mig too. Misinformation, no idea.

Belgian A109 confirmed they are arriving on Friday No probs, do you ...

Re: Arrivals

Solo Fast Jets, Czech Gripen and Swiss Hornet official display calendars have 8-9 June noted. Not sure if that is a generic 'weekend date' marked or indicative of Saturday 8th arrivals and rehearsals.

Re: RIAT 2019

The speed of fast passes has often been a source of confusion for me. I'm sure I remember fast passes being very fast indeed 10 or 15 years ago... when did the regs change? I agree, however the debut of M2000N pair a few years back, at least to me, really pushed it noticeably more than other acts, ...

Re: RIAT 2019

I like a nice lunch break, but I'm not sure I can mange a 5hr one. Exactly times like these why ...

I agree with a lot of it too. However, a display act absolutely can be judged good or less good if you have paid for the privilege, there are awards given out for exactly this. The huge gratitude I/we have for any operator that sends anything to the display should not need to be (or maybe unfortunat...

Re: Was the RCAF Hornet really that bad?

Have to say I thought the Wednesday practice display was absolutely superb however for some unknown reason to me, the show days weren’t flown with the same punch. I have found this to be the case for numerous displays over the past few years in particular. Really punchy validations and a resultant ...

Re: RIAT 2018: Thoughts & feedback!

Overall, a great show, well done and thank you to DBH and those involved. Most of the positives I'd type would simply be repetition of previous posts so I'll just skip to some other thoughts. I'm not a photographer, so I always prefer overcast, cooler and rainy shows because it keeps the jets lower,...
