Re: Bala Lake

Nice composite, convincing! I went on a sailing course there once. Back in the days of Hunters, Gnats, Phantoms and Buccaneers, all of which would scream over the lake. I was a terrible sailor, my first solo ended up capsizing onto an elderly guy fishing from a rowing boat in the middle of the lake....

Re: 2020 for centaurus18 (inc 2 x civvy!)

(kicks tumbelweed out of the way). Lovely pix... particularly heartened by the Hunters in their excellent schemes. The B2... I don't get it. Doesn't even look like an aeroplane to me. There was some excitement at a recent RIAT about a flypast by one but it leaves me cold for some reason, as did the ...

Lovely shots... all the better for being fresh out the pan. Finnish F-18 just maybe the best, most consistent fast jet show on the planet. Good to see the Reds get a show in.

Superb, these pilots show such skill and bravery. Avoiding other aircraft another aspect of their skill as they weave through valleys to get at the fires.

Super shots, although I don't like 'artificial slopes' in photographs. The F-15 take off my favourite... I personally really like background context and landscape in aviation shots. Top work, thanks for adding here!

Re: RIAT 2019

Outstanding flying on Saturday. Who got a pic of the A400 'duo' (RAF one appeared behind cloud behind the display A400 when landing)? All displays great but the best two were the final two - Finn F-18 and SU-27. Hats off to RAF Typhoon... really outrageous display and Mig21 and Spanish Harriers. I l...

Re: 2019: Award Winners

Can't argue with any of that but agree the RAF Typhoon was outrageously good. If fact I thought it was the Italian one for a while. Mig 21 should have got something for being there... maybe a 'Being there' award category would work! Swiss F-18 unlucky, and the M346 but you can't give an award for ev...

Re: RIAT Arrivals... LIVE! 2019

I wonder if any photographer caught the Airbus A400 'duo'? (On Saturday, an RAF A400 suddenly emerged from cloud a couple of miles behind the display A400 as it was on final approach - actually had me confused 'how did it get there?' I thought)

Re: Jalfrezi @ RIAT - better late than never?

Excellent set... love the Spit 05 pic and the following F-35 pic. Mirage pix remind me that the fast run during their display might have been the fastest thing I've ever seen... maybe faster than legendary Tornado and Lightning fast runs of yesteryear.

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain airshow Sunday 23-09-2018

Great set. Particularly like the Pembroke in the final shot; beautiful light and soft clouds, very atmospheric. I still can't get my head around the F-35; I've taken against it and I'm not sure why - maybe it's the money! Thanks for sticking these up.

Re: Biggin Hill Festival of Flight 2018

Excellent show, but shame about lack of a fast jet or two. Gather the Belgian F16 doing nowt in UK other that Riat this year and last year’s Gripen a real coup. But not getting the Typhoon to display was a bit off (although Sunday fast pass much appreciated) RAF should support the show a little bit ...

Re: RIAT 2018 discussion

Truly remarkable this year. Kudos to the Vampire pair... not easy to fly elderly jets like that with such precision and so smooth. Fast jet standards were spectacular. The Belgian F-16 was terrific - how is it that the Belgians' choreography and executions is always so superb, so intense? Swiss and ...
