For the sake of completeness it's perhaps best not to forget the UKHAT 'target airframe' at Gatwick! :innocent:
And what's left, if anything, of the airframe at Guernsey.

Re: RAF BAE146 to SWAM & Duxford

No 146 for Woodford, which is surprising really.

More surprising that DAS were happy to take one at the detriment of losing another British type. Strange decision personally, but I guess that's how museums work!

I have to say that I have never understood why they took place, as it breaks the NATO post Ramstein safety rules.
I may be missing your point, but how does a RAFAT flypast break NATO safety rules?

Surely that also means their flypasts over London, Newcastle, indeed anywhere, breaks the rules?

Has anybody noticed how the wicked witch of the north aka Angela Raynor has been miraculously transformed into to an attractive level headed fluent speaker with personality. I'm guessing you're an ardent Tory supporter then! Amazing how many people don't like Rayner just because she's a front-bench...

Is this an unusual occurrence - the track appears to be about a mile North of where it probably is - unless is it now taxying around Horley town centre
No, especially in older aircraft.

I was just looking at Cyprus on Bing Maps and thought 'What's that on the threshold of Akrotiri?' A quick zoom finds a TR1 at the beginning of it's take off roll, with chase cars in attendance :) Always gives me a bit of a grin, finding little gems like that on the aerial mapping sites https://www....

More NH-90 woes. As photogenic as it is, it really has turned out to be a pretty rubbish helicopter:

Can't say I'm surprised, an aircraft designed by committee to be a jack of all trades and master of none.

I think Mercedes ... have behaved as well as can be expected in the circumstances. Really? You think that denying the team personnel the chance to have their celebration of winning the constructors championship last night is well behaved? How about the entirety of their Formula E entry? So all their posturing and nonsense last night not having cars at the ceremony was just a smack in the face to the hundreds of people that worked on championship winning cars in Formula E and in Formula 1.

A really, really bad look for Toto and for Merc's global image.

Try to imagine another sport and how ridiculous it would be (Marathon?) for the front runner to build up a safe lead , for the race to be paused and, suddenly, the guy in second place is on your shoulder!!. Utter farce. The issue of safety cars has already been identified and other measures develop...

I really dislike the narrative of “oh, well, what *else* was wrong with them” as though we don’t need to care about them as much if they were old, or had a vulnerability.

And I’ll say the same now as I did all those other times - if you wait, as a policy, for hospitalisations to increase, it’s already too late, and people will die who might not have needed to die. Yet again we are delaying "non-urgent" appointments, for example...initial cancer diagnosis, ...
