Re: Sywell Airshow 2024

They have just posted on their Instagram story that they are there for "a day".

Make of that what you will, but if I was Sywell I would probably be hastily editing the recent Facebook post which throws a bit of public shade at them.

The A-26 is participating in the flying display at Leszno both today and tomorrow. Its not coming to Sywell...

Re: Sywell Airshow 2024

Seeing as it arrived at Leszno fairly early, i wonder if it will spend the day there and then come over to Sywell later this afternoon / evening?

Re: Sywell Airshow 2024

Can anyone comment on what photography will be like at the show? I'm only interested in planes in the air, not on the ground. I'll be shooting with a 180-600 lens - hope that's sufficient. I presume that 'spotters corner' is the place to be. Read up... as a local and very regular visitor to the air...

Re: Warbird operators to be evicted from Duxford...?

I don't like this at all. "...the rich history of the airfield’s flying activities will be protected and preserved for generations to come" Given when i've read throughout this thread, i'm not convinced by this sentence either. The 'rich history of the airfield’s flying activities' being ...

Site map revealed today... https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=122141727242143348&set=a.122110954304143348 So it is set up similar to the cancelled FL show then. Not perfect but decent.... So this actually looks better than i thought it would be. I very often take photos of aircraft facing Wes...

Re: Sywell Airshow 2024

Last time I looked (before booking two-day tickets) this event has more than enough going-on in the air & on the ground already! One of the strongest line-ups seen in the UK for years. We need good weather & good aircraft reliability & we'll have witnessed a classic! :sunglas...

I see this starts again next Thursday (7th March) at 9pm on More4 with the Shuttleworth Spitfire. Anyone know whats in the rest of the series? I watched the Shuttleworth Spitfire and though it was an incredibly amateurish production I'd rather see it as it was than not at all. I actually didn't thi...

Re: HAC selling their fleet

I noticed this in the latest Aeroplane (or Flypast). Either way, i was quite surprised and almost confused as i don't think it's too often that a whole fleet is put up for sale? Hopefully they don't end up too far away.

Re: The Sywell & Air Leasing Thread

I must admit, I'd forgotten about this one! Maybe someone will have an idea. In other news, I was updating my personal lists last night and despite Jersey Jerk now taking up G-JERK, Air Leasing still appear to have a Mustang registered to them as G-CLRG, ex 44-13668. I'm not sure if it's a paperwork...

Re: Sywell Airshow 2024

The sun will be directly down the runway at around 1510, and then it will gradually move so that you're facing into it as the afternoon / evening go on. I was hoping that this wouldn't be the case, but i guess it is what it is. From what i can work out, if the aircraft do fly a topside in from the ...

Re: Sywell Airshow 2024

Hello Does anybody know what the photographic conditions are like during the showdays? Is it like Duxford, sun in front of the crowd line? Are there some special spots for taking pictures? I am thinking of going to the show, but I've never been to Sywell before. So all info is welcome. I believe th...

Excellent podcast, essential listening for sure.

I picked up tickets for both days yesterday. It seemed like the sensible thing to do given that i only live 15 minutes away.

The line up is exceptional so far and it sounds like it's only going to get better. Bring on June!
