Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.
So what about all those poor people that are there today then that are going to be infecting each other? Surely they should have cancelled today's meeting too as the same infection rates will still apply whatever the day of the week surely? From watching the TV coverage from Doncaster this afternoo...

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?
From the British Gliding Association Twitter feed :-
The new owners of Bruntingthorpe airfield, Cox Automotive, have noted that as the site is increasingly used by vehicles, they do not deem it safe for a landing. Existing aircraft at the site that can fly will be asked to leave.

Re: Footage of RAF Gaydon "At Homes" 1960s
Brilliant link, thanks. Such memories. The days when living in Worcestershire meant a number of shows were less than a 2 hour journey away! My first Gaydon "At home" was 68, as shown in this footage the great thing for me was that you often got more than one of some types, still remember I think 4 F...

As others have said - the social aspect, meeting up with friends, simply chatting to the person next to you, who you have never met before, but both with a common interest.

My early bird weekend ticket last year cost £60. Removing the weekend option and now charging for parking it means if you don’t book early bird tickets it’s now over £80 Had just been looking at prices and thought where has the weekend price gone? Now I see your post - last year my weekend was £59....

Re: Your favourite UK airshow 2019?
Seeing all the Daks at Duxford was a great event, notwithstanding that it fell short of what may have been hoped, and the weather was pants. The Sunday of that week at Old Warden was fabulous with 7 of them there, and the chance to have a look inside and chat to the teams - I'm full of admiration fo...

Meteor WD686 returns to RAF Defford
Bit late posting this as it happened back in October, others from Worcestershire and indeed Flypast readers may well be aware of this - the final aircraft to leave RAF Defford 60 years ago has returned for a 6 month stay following restoration by BDAC at Old Sarum. Meteor restoration would appear to ...

Despite the obvious issues today, lack of flying and "damp" conditions, I still "sort of" enjoyed the day. 4 days of aviation - what's not to like? Running slightly late I got to Blue car park around 8.15 and found no queue either on the road or into the car park. I suspect a dif...

How much 'variety' does EMA offer? I think if you like TUI/Jet2/Ryanair 737's you'll be in heaven Not the busiest airfield - having said that I think its the second largest freight airport after Heathrow, so that may bring in a few non-737 items! I see the third programme is about military aircraft.

The fence looks to have been moved a good 20m+ back from where it was 2 years ago.
