Re: Midlands Air Festival 2024 (31 May - 2 June)

Typhoon added for Friday only Worth mentioning that the Typhoon will be part of the nightfire display. Nightfire is well worth the admission fee with 3 pyro aircraft displays this year and now the Typhoon accompanied by two carrots. Would be great to see the Typhoon at dusk but will be late afterno...

Re: Midlands Air Festival 2024 (31 May - 2 June)

Well the organisers have said on social media some exciting updates to come this weekend, everyone seemingly assumes it will be further RAF participation but its possible something else is being lined up. Given previous years allocations, I'll have a guess at 2 or 3 BBMF Friday and Saturday, with p...

Regarding the something big announcement, I’d take a guess at it being the RAF F-35 doing the role demonstration as per what RIAT have just announced…if it is, it will be good to see! But let’s see what they confirm tomorrow.
An excellent prediction it would seem

Re: Abingdon Air & Country Show 2024

Far more puzzling about the SwAFHF Calendar and the Flying Bulls calendar (https://www.flyingbulls.at/de/events-stories/events) is that neither are advertising any presence at Midlands Air Festival despite that show pushing their participation for months. Or is Midlands just riding on the coattails...

As has been stated already, this will not be received well by families. How many of those large "trailers" do you see at shows like Old Buck, Ragley, RIAT.

Looks like we are up to 12 Dakotas now
7 of them plus the 2 Aero Legends aircraft on the Sunday will be a nice sight, I wonder how many will take part in the jumps on Saturday - will they land do we know?

And another one that is a picture of a Harrier that seems to suggest they will be having the Red Arrows.
Although the allocations aren't announced until next month, I think we can guarantee the Red Arrows will be there.

Re: Midlands Air Festival 2024 (31 May - 2 June)

Ordered my 3 day tickets today, with camping. Really looking forward to this! Fingers crossed for some more fast jets (perhaps the Typhoon and Red Arrows) but the Draken, F-86, Bo-105, DC-6, B-25, P-38 already make this an incredible line up! All being well they will be allocated the Typhoon and Re...

I remember seeing Night Fright in the hangars at Coventry way back, when they initially had the plan to try to join in with the 2019 Daks visit, so it will be great to finally see her in the air.

Re Hunters don't forget SwAFHF have one (ex-Swiss I think) which did an excellent display at Gdynia airshow in 2019. They're displaying one of their Drakens over land now in the UK so not impossible to work up a toned down Hunter routine that complies with regs if there's demand for it? An interest...

Starlink - 5000+ up there so far, 12,000 planned, 42,000 talked of as a future target.

For anyone (like me) who does long-exposure photography at night they are a real pain!

There were a number of unsold seats last year and I think they were being sold close to the show so I suspect you should be ok. If the seating plan was accurate I estimated there were at least 400 unsold pre-show (I've certainly never known so much space around me) - with the increase in price, and...

Shout out for my local show at Ragley - whilst the position of the sun is no help at all for photographers, it is great for basking in the sun and just watching the entertainment unfold in front of you with it's natural bowl setting. They have done wonders with the show in the 5 years it's been runn...

Yes, but the leading aircraft of the D-Day squadron (Placid Lassie, That's All Brother, Screaming Eagle) are listed as participating aircraft for the North Weald schedule at dday-80.co.uk. One or other of these sources is wrong/out of date. They can't both be accurate. Thanks, yes, I see from the N...
