Re: FRIAT 2025 Renewals
I'm guessing it might be shuttle bus related as I dont' think FRIAT includes the shuttle bus? Maybe now they will be offering it to everyone on FRIAT instead of them having to contact them to book like last year. Really, it should be included as standard. Do many people in FRIAT use the shuttle bus...

Re: Race Day - 6th October
I see the nearby A421 is closed again today - is this a result of more rain on Wednesday or is it still a knock-on from the much-publicised problems last week? EDIT Just seen the local MP's letter from a couple of days ago - I hadn't realised it never re-opened last week.

Re: FRIAT 2025 Renewals
And then there is the inclusion of the first class lounge in what was the forward, eastern corner of the area previously given over to FRIAT when we specifically told there were no plans to put a higher value enclosure there. First class lounge was already in that position. thanks, bloody bonkers l...

Thinking back to how the timescale slipped and slipped last year, something may be through before Christmaseamonfalzon wrote: ↑Mon 23 Sep 2024, 2:35 pmAnyone got this mentioned emailed by any chance? Re: Battle of Britain Air Show 14-15th September 2024
A great show today, but Duxford have made it a serious struggle for disabled people like me, now that there is no parking on the show ground. I’m just finding it so difficult now, where in the past it was so easy. I have complained to IWM but was fobbed off, as expected. Can you not park by Land Wa...

Re: Shuttleworth Airshows 2025
Three of the most popular shows now on a Saturday. Anyone know why they’ve decided to do that? Appreciate they now include an evening display but surely they could do that on a Sunday too. A little miffed, I work on Saturdays so will have to use up three days of holidays 😆 I'd assume it's because t...

Would appear the the Swedes are appearing at the BoB show - Saab B17 | The only airworthy Saab B17, this unique, rare aircraft was flown by the Swedish Air Force as a dive bomber and target-tug during the Second World War. Its large undercarriage performs as a pair of dive brakes in flight. https:/...

Re: Victory Show 2024, Cosby - 30th August - 1st September
Is anyone able to comment on how close disabled parking is to the showground? Tempted to go tomorrow but I can't walk far so not sure how much of a struggle it would be. The disabled parking is in the car park at the far end of the showground from the road (Croft Road). I'd say not more than 100 ya...

I was there on Friday, Car park on the top of Beachy Head is £25 !, aircraft are dots, not coming near at all Not sure which is the greatest surprise in that Statement, oh! wait, Beachy Head has been a designated no-fly zone for years. (following that incident a little west of Beachy) Display aircr...

Re: FRIAT Stand Location 2025
Speaking with Wendy after the show on Sunday, she explained the stand had to be moved due to USAF becoming more active, and this sometimes causes delays on the FRIAT stand being complete. The Viewing Village stand can be built 3 weeks prior to the show, not so with the FRIAT stand in it's current p...

Re: FRIAT 2024
So, potentially controversial opinion, and with the caveat that I arrived just before 6am on all three show days, I personally think the new entry system was far better than in previous years, even without a dedicated FRIAT lane. Anyone who arrived before the gates opened would have been in within ...

Just a quickie, chaps. I carelessly missed the C-47 at the Eastern end. Whos was it and what was the reg? The checklist gives the reg but that only comes back as a nose and gives the owner as Night Fright Promotions. Surely it's not the ever elusive Night Fright in person and I missed it! :unamused:...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
What were the queues like for entry and security checks today? Last year I joined the back of the queue just after 7 but didn't get into the showground until 8:30ish. Arrived at Green entrance 7.30 - through security 10 seconds later, open bag, quick look, close bag, no "wand" :grinning: ...

If you are on the M5 why not go down to Gloucester and use green route. Coming off the dual carriage way at cirencester it took me 30 minutes to drive, park, get through security and tickets. Easy getting out to. The roads are a bit narrow but not single width. I do understand the preference for th...

How can the 100% bag search be blamed, when it was in place last year and we had the entrance? Nothing like changing a main selling point 2 weeks to entry. Ah yes, because everyone queueing to collect their kit from a cold musty container first thing in the morning is really going to speed things u...

Re: FRIAT 2024
I only park in Blue on Fri/Mon, so the dedicated entry lane isn't such a big issue to me, but I do hope they have expanded the numbers of people who can be "bag searched" at any one time this year. Although in FRIAT I use Green on Sat/Sun as it's the route to the show I use, and last year ...

Re: Festival of Flight - 29th & 30th June 2024
Attended Saturday, thoroughly enjoyable day , loved the French pair. Lots going on, and the positioning of the items for the younger visitors seemed to work well. I always have a soft spot for a Tiger Moth, so seeing the Tiger 11 was great, some really good flying in such a large formation, and Tim ...
