Re: ‘Pegs’ joins the Biggin Hill stable

Glad to see the aircraft staying in the UK. Easily the best looking Hurricane around, in my opinion even with the two seat conversion.

That 1996 lineup is quite astonishing. Cannot quite believe the amount of aircraft I took for granted, as relatively common to see, in the 90's.

Nine Mustang's as well. :worship:

Do wish they would have been a little more exotic with the airshow themes and titles. It's broadly very similar to this year.

hi all I've not been to this one before and couldn't find much info other than here but out intrest is there a showground ie traders or a museum?? etc or just the static line up ??? That Anson.

Havent been since the new display line changes, used to love this airshow as it had a "closer than normal" feeling. Sad that it seems things have changed so much.

The ground and takeoff shots are particularly nice.

Re: Flying Legends 2019

It's not quite the lone up from last year, the Red Bull aircraft being elsewhere is sorely felt, but it does still have some highlights. It's a shame about Berlin Express and the Hun Hunter however you never know what's going on behind closed doors. Would have loved to have seen them both again. Fi...

Re: Military Airshow 7th July

A thoroughly enjoyable day. Is it just me or were there fewer topside passes than we've come to expect at Old Warden? One disappointment was choosing to interview the BoB veteran whilst the flying was on. He should have been given a slot all of his own so we could hear all what he had to say. Drivi...

Re: Military Airshow 7th July

Is this also the most Avro 504's at one time? Three have been at Shuttleworth but not flown together. The Flying Legends Facebook page seems pretty adamant that the DH-9 will make it's debut at Flying Legends. (They even replied in capital letters that it's debut will be at Flying Legends) Unsure w...

Re: Flying Legends 2019

Just looking back at the 2010 programme... 55 aircraft that year including 30 different types from all over Europe including the I-16, seven P-51s, three Skyraiders, an A26 etc etc. ...there does seem to be some kind of problem getting anything overseas authorised. With no transparency we're left t...

Re: Vintage Evening at Duxford - 22nd June 2019

I had no skin in this game, but it does appear to me that there is a distinct whiff that HAC and IWM view enthusiasts just as cash cows, and are in fact anxious to deny them opportunities (by denying information) if they are not going to get to lighten the enthusiasts' wallets considerably. A goodw...

Re: Vintage Evening at Duxford - 22nd June 2019

As with the Daks meet, it's interesting when IWM partner with another party for an airshow and I'm always curious re the business relationship/model. Perhaps IWM perceived that there just was not enough cash on offer to make it worth their while to promote properly? Again, with time to plan, the ex...

Re: Daks Over Normandy - June 2019

Indeed it did, all paratroopering aircraft performed a flypast before departing to France. I think the discussion is whether or not a mass flypast of all the DC-3/ C-47 variants was something advertised or alluded to at Duxford itself. I certainly didnt think it was.

Re: Flying Legends 2019

With yet another UK based Spitfire announced; even I have to admit to being a little nervous that we may see a below-par show. With no visitors as such announced yet you can see this line up by attending a couple of UK shows, especially the DX BoB show. I'm clinging to hope that something spectacul...
