Re: Season Premiere - King & Country Air Show (Sunday 7 May 2023)

Looking through G-Info, the aircraft down to display is G-BWGF XW325, owned by G-JPVA Ltd. Good lineup so far.

Re: Duxford Diary 2022

A random Duxford Spitfire question for anyone more knowledgeable than me: Is EP122 still at Duxford somewhere (I've not seen it recently, but may have been looking in the wrong place) - http://www.eurodemobbed.org.uk/locations.php?location=1404 lists it as last noted at Duxford October 2021, and I ...

Aero Legends' Devon VP981 would be nice to see, especially in a formation with Rapides, (etc.)
Currently minus an engine at Headcorn unfortunately.

I've just booked tickets for both days to be sure to get my airshow fix in this abnormal year, but I haven't had the email confirmation through. Has anybody else had this issue?

Has been at Biggin since the summer, I am lead to believe she will return to the USA upon completion.

Air-to-air with TD314 & P3717 to the BoB Memorial

On Battle of Britain day I flew with Aero Legends in their Devon to the memorial at Capel-le-Ferne in the company of Spitfire TD314 and Hurricane P3717. An unforgettable experience made all the more special by the significance of the date, and the fact that the owner of the Hurricane was on-board as...

I was on that flight and managed to take this photo as we passed the memorial, a very poignant moment.

Re: Pegs sold

I would love to see her as a IID but the general feeling is that she'll be converted to a two seater. Hawker Restorations have been looking at such a project for some time and the language used "will emerge looking very different" adds weight to that. Time will tell. They already have an ...

Shuttleworth Evening Airshow - 17/06/2017

My third visit to OW, but my first evening airshow. All the stars aligned for this show, the weather, the lineup the crowd and of course, the location. Absolute Shuttleworth magic, one of the best shows I've been to and I'm hooked. The full album is here: m A selection below, thanks for looking! htt...

Re: Duxford Air Festival - Saturday 27th May

Out of interest, what focal length, shutter speeds, metering and modes were you using? I shoot with a Canon 100-400 lens, the shots of fast jets are right at the 400 end, most of the other shots are in the 250-400 range. I tend not to fill the frame when I'm shooting to avoid chopping bits of the a...

Duxford Air Festival - Saturday 27th May

My efforts from the Saturday of the show. The Mustang, Trig Team and Sea Vixen were highlights but the Rafale absolutely stole the show. A thoroughly enjoyable day, and once the rain had blown through, we had some lovely sky for backgrounds. The full album is here, including photos inside the hangar...

Shuttleworth Season Premiere - 07/05/2017

My second visit to OW, (the first was Fly Navy last year) and with the display lines almost back to normal, I have to say, I get it now. I can see why the Shuttleworth collection is held in such high regard among airshow goers. Great lineup, some lovely weather, excellent flying and the Spitfire and...
