Eating out/Pubs in Swindon

Looking to tap into the depth of knowledge here! My brother and I are staying in Swindon over the RIAT week. Previously we've been to the Rendezvous ( I think, chinese buffet, pretty decent) and the Jewel in the Crown for Indian food. However that is the extent on my knowledge of the area does anyon...

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread

Me too, too many people falling down with Covid, so I'm keeping a low profile and taking all precautions, face mask etc when out. I fly down for RIAT next Tuesday and see the flight as the greatest risk of exposure, which would be a disaster. Anyone know where I could hire an NBC suit? Probably saf...

Re: FRIAT 2023 ticket increases discussion

At least some clarity, and relief that the DD option still stands. Many questions still though, will we still be allocated seats on the day? Guess we’ll have to wait till next Thursday to find out! Thanks again to Tommy for raising this with DBH. Jason- Shuttle bus is not included in FRIAT, but tick...

Re: FRIAT 2023 ticket increases discussion

Can we just remind everyone that RIAT ar ops & ATC wouldnt have been involved in this decision & dont deserve to be bombarded here or on social media Totally agree, and we’ll said. Peter has posted on twitter much the same, can only feel for them after such a tremendous effort for this year...

Re: FRIAT 2023 ticket increases discussion

Have to agree with the general consensus, although to be fair I did think FRIAT was good value even after the increase to £250, however these increases do seem excessive. Particularily challenging for most expecting full payment during the current show! Thanks for the notice, nice to feel valued aft...

Mine also arrived. Row D, dunno if that's good or not
I’m row D too, and pretty pleased as only four rows from the top of the grandstand. Although to be fair I don’t think there is a “bad” seat in FRIAT.

Tickets arrived today, beginning to feel very real now!

NHS Spitfire and DHC Beaver at Cumbernauld Airport

As part of the great north tour, the Spitfire and Beaver used Cumbernauld Airport as a base. As the weather was great this seemed like too good an opportunity to miss,so off to sunny Cumbernauld for me. Very limited view from both of my chosen locations, but nice passes and rolls before landing and ...

Thanks for the kind comments, it was a gravity defying sight to behold! Talking to the airport ploice at Glasgow last week they estimated 8,000 people attended Prestwick! Certainly felt like it trying to negotiate the traffic! All good fun!.

An-225 and Qatar Emiri C-17 Prestwick 02/08/20

Hugely understimated the interest in the An-225's pit stop at Prestwick today,I've never seen the place so stacked. The mound was probably not the best to get shots due to the volume of people, but a great sight nonetheless, heres a wee selection. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50181159468_3bc4...

Have to agree, never seen the place so busy, even when there's been an air show on, quite a spectacle though and nicely caught. I was at the mound initally and photography was, shall we say challenging. Great wee day though.
