Re: Flying Legends 2020

My early bird weekend ticket last year cost £60. Removing the weekend option and now charging for parking it means if you don’t book early bird tickets it’s now over £80

Re: October 6th - Race Day and Season Finale

Was going to go for a nice way to end the season but I can’t see much being able to even use the runway after the predicted rain in the morning and it’s looking a bit gusty too. A sad way to end the season but honestly the weathers been dire this year

Re: Jet Fest - North Weald 27-29 September 2019

Yet yesterday everyone was left in the dark. I felt especially sorry for the people who stood near the runway all day. I just ended up on the sofa in the hangar out the wind waiting for some news I'd have joined you if I'd known! - Not that I was standing by the runway. I seemed to spend a big chun...

Bit annoying they are now posting updates on social media. I understand things couldn’t fly but there wasn’t a single update the entire time I was there I had no idea of any events taking place

Re: Jet Fest - North Weald 27-29 September 2019

I try to go to plenty of events to support them and help collections get some money but I don’t think I’ll bother next year. I’ll wait to see pictures and convince me it’s actually going to be worth the 200 miles round trip

Re: Jet Fest - North Weald 27-29 September 2019

So there wasn't even the promised Gnat single-seater taxi run? Nope. That was the frustrating part. We did last year when it was free but not when we paid. I’m sure if it had been brilliant weather it would have been far better but they knew what the weather was going to be like and didn’t really o...

Re: Jet Fest - North Weald 27-29 September 2019

I have to say I left bored to be honest. I didn’t take my camera and just wanted to enjoy the day but it just didn’t happen. I know the weather scuppered a lot of it but even things like the mug 17 being nowhere near the event was a shame and the atmosphere was just a bit flat. I know I would have l...

Re: Jet Fest - North Weald 27-29 September 2019

Think it’s just another event that’s been tarnished by the rubbish weather we’ve had this year. Was quite excited about seeing the mass gatherings but it’s a shame

It did look tight. Not ever been a fan of their pairs display as sometimes they don’t seem to know where each other are

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2019

Sorry to be "that guy" but, looking at the weather forecast tomorrow, would we imagine most participants will display? I'm taking the family, who aren't chuffed with the prospect of another Duxford washout. Depends on cloud base and visibility. Last year the Saturday was wet but most thin...

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2019

I agree it was better than legends this year and as a loyal legends fan it takes a lot for me to say that as I love the show. Hope the spitfire VIII is ok and the pilots doesn’t feel bad about what happened. Such a great display this afternoon

Re: Victory Show, Cosby 2019

Went today. The flying we got was really good, the buchons low take off was epic and it was lovely to have some top sides by a bbmf fighter but I have to agree it was very stop start between flying elements. £20 was a fair price though so I’m fairly happy

Re: Victory Show, Cosby 2019

Best place to watch the flying displays from with the new display line? From what I've read, either extreme end of the runway? If it’s the same as last year they did a horseshoe going over the battlefield and curving away before curving back over the left hand end. So yes either end you were closes...

Re: Vintage Airshow - 1st September 2019

Enjoyed the show a lot nice and relaxing. Enjoyed the array of de Havillands. The miles aircraft were also nice to see. The founder aircraft was a really nice touch. The spitfire and hurricanes were awesome as always. Lots of First World War gems. Just a really enjoyable afternoon at an Airshow and ...

Saw it mentioned over on the Key forums recently:

https://www.wisbechstandard.co.uk/news/ ... -1-5738131

This makes more sense. I thought we were on about the yak 3 hence why I hadn’t heard of anything.

Re: Little Gransden 2019

I went for the first time this year and it was a bit mixed especially at the start. Without being rude the yellow pitts and the white extra would have looked good on the moon. The turbulent team doing all their party tricks behind a hedge so it was a waste really as I quite like them. Then the bell ...

Re: RIAT 2019 - Issues

My biggest issue isn’t purely a riat problem it’s just more noticeable at riat. People taking photos but invading your personal space especially Monday. I turned around to get a drink and someone had their camera lense right next to my head. Honestly it’s not enjoyable having people climbing over yo...
