Re: Possible format for RIAT2021

Would be helpful (towards the end of the year) to hear what the plan is for 2021 - with everything going on, it is unlikely (imo) a show like this is possible. As soon as each RIAT finishes, the planning for the following year gets underway immediately so it would be interesting to know what they'v...

Re: RIAT 2020

Correct, I mean they're not even on their list of confirmed aircraft.

Seems their social media circus haven't changed since last year. Earlier this week when I contacted them I got an out of office type response saying they're closed for Christmas and will be back on 2nd January...

Can't see any logic in that. I'm sure they're keen to announce something ASAP.

They'll announce aircraft when air arms confirm their attendance. DBH have no control on when that happens.

Re: RIAT 2020

This new enclosure is also in green which means the *really* quiet part of the crowd line. It'll have no negative impact whatsoever on the typical people who like to go to the rope in red and blue. If anything it may take a few families away from that area. I feel sorry for whoever ends up in the en...

Re: RIAT 2020 Wishlist

We're seeing them at various seaside shows, isn't that the stumbling block? See below from Southport thread, seems money isn't the stumbling block Went Airside to Blackpool Airport on Sunday - very enjoyable day. Got to sit in most of the aircraft, will post pictures later. Regarding the Swedes - s...

Re: RIAT 2020

Good point raised with Sky Tanker however; would certainly fill up the static. The static was FULL this year. So full there wasn't space for the Turkish KC-135. Adding more tankers isn't necessarily a good idea... My understanding was that the Turkish KC-135 wasn't over in the static park because i...

Re: RIAT 2019

Was listening to the RIAT radio station on the drive in and they said that they had two special flypasts planned for Sunday but wouldn’t comment on what they might be. Still don't get this "I know something you don't, but I'm not going to tell you" mentality. Cause that always sells ticke...

Re: RIAT 2019

Is the Turkish KC-135 support for the Phantoms or part of the static? I know it isn't down for being on static on the website, but it would be a lovely surprise. I should imagine just support though. Normally turns up with the Soloturk but gets off on Thursday/Friday, then turns up again Monday to ...

Re: RIAT 2019

Exactly. It's 2019 and it's ticket only. DBH want to share (some) of what they know to get people through the gates and we want to know if it's worthwhile taking the time off work, sourcing accommodation and paying for it all.

No issue in that provided DBH are transparent.

Does the rationing of assets across the weekend suggest Sunday’s flypasts have come to nought? I've not lost faith in them yet (the interview referring to them was only last week) but you do have to question the mentality of keeping quiet about them. They're not going to shift loads more tickets by...

Are we leaning towards a B2 because of recent appearances there, or because that's what we're hoping for?

Thanks all any of you taking tripod and gimbal or just handholding? I find a tripod far too restrictive when panning so I always take a monopod and gimbal combo on the crowd line. I find it particularly handy juggling the weight of a 150-600mm on a full frame whilst getting prop or rotor blur at sl...

Re: East or West ?

MOST stuff departs in a westward direction (with the exception, randomly, of the Ukranians every year) so P&V west is usually kinda useless on departure day except for some shots of stuff taxiing and maybe a half dozen things taking off... I'm doing departures for the first time this year and a...
