Re: RIAT 2019

For the spotters, the Canadian CP-140 & USAF C-17 will be different airframes to the aircraft present at Yeovilton. And the same Lithuanian C-27J Spartan airframe will be at RIAT next week, but with a different crew to the one at Yeovilton (Rather annoying as I've seen 2/3 of the countries Spar...

Either the visiting aircrews will have tables next to their aircraft (like the Dutch NH-90 did last year), or they arrange the bigger sales tents for the teams etc. near all the trade stands

Re: Tuesday Arrivals - what's due?

Just found this paragraph in the Restricted Airspace info for RIAT's RAF100 flypast on Friday. Be a bit of a gap in Tuesdays arrivals due to the dispersal of aircraft from the London flypast: On 10 July the RAF will conduct a flypast of Buckingham Palance. The associated Temporary Restricted Airspac...

Whilst the excellent amount of static items was very nice to see, the lack of signage for some of the aircraft (especially the older aircraft out of the museum) was apparent when members of the publi...

BBMF timings show Trenchard Formation at Cosford at 2pm. https://twitter.com/RAFBBMF/status/1004651984656453632?s=19

Also shows the Spitfire landing, and then leaving at 5pm with a flypast and transiting back to Coningsby - presumably for the special polish flypast.

Thanks for that, Tommy. Guess it’ll be a surprise on the day. From watching a few videos on YouTube, it looks like only the Belgian F-16 and A-109 use flares (but I’d assume the latter will be based at Cosford). In 2016, the Belgian A-109 didn't use flares at Cosford (would have helped to pick it o...
