Re: Duxford Premium membership

I have Premium membership and I originally had trouble getting my discount on my Sunday tickets. I went to the correct ‘members area’ to book tickets and it was charging me £35 which didn’t sound like much of a discount . I dug out the Flying Legends email which had a link which took me to the corre...

Re: Red Arrow crash?

...for several links and "newsbits" from various media sources, see m . Apparently there were two ejections, but whether there were two "good 'chutes" ? Latest report is that the pilot and his 'blue' ejected safely and have minor injuries only. Happened on takeoff for the return...

Re: Lakenheath Eagles 15th Feb

Great shots , it was a lovely day to make my return and these are a handy photographic record of my visit. I didn’t arrive until after 10 and left at half 2 to avoid the rush hour heading south. I saw the returning and overshooting 492nd jets though and left after a 6 ship of ‘Reapers’ headed off. T...

Re: Sunny Suffolk Monday 12th Feb 2018

I was there today and there were plenty of overshoots. 4x ‘Bolars’ returned after lunch and performed numerous missed approaches. I haven’t been for years and it was an enjoyable few hours.
The forecast looks good again tomorrow so it’ll be worth a trip although due to half term it is fairly busy.

I stopped reading the papers along time ago............ The fact of the matter is now, we get a police response (before the heightened terror threat too) which we didn't get during the Labour years. Someone claimed it was Red Ken punishing Tory boroughs but that could never be proved. Even the quic...

It would have been nice if Home Secretaries Blunkett, Straw and Clarke had come down hard on the radical preachers such as the one at Finsbury Park back in the 'noughties' Instead,Labour installed a puppet Met Commissioner in the insipid Ian Blair and a blind eye was turned. Re: London incident

'Khan's weasel words and carefully-scripted soundbites say the sum total of less than nothing. I despise Ken , both as a man and for his vile regressive politics, but on 7/7 he set the bar on how a British mayor should respond to a terror attack. Khan barely comes up to his knee. And if the brazenl...

I thoroughly enjoyed that........dare I say more than the Thunderbirds. It has already been said that European air shows are the way to go now, especially in the wake of Shoreham. If you have a flexible employer or are better still retired I think the European air show calendar is worth considering....

Re: G-TFSI (Miss Velma) and G-SPIT sold to North Weald aviat

Thankfully I managed to get on one of the NWHA 'sit in' experiences not long before the trio left. It lasted over 4 hours and we were allowed great access to the aircraft . I can sit in a Spitfire anytime, but the chance to sit in a Hawker Fury and Mustang plus the Griffon Spitfire is a rare thing u...

If they aren't able to continue with jets I think it's time to bring the Red Arrows to an end. I'm sorry to say I regard the turbo prop teams like Team 'Horlicks' and the rest as loo break / stall browsing opportunities. The RAF will no doubt want a team if that happens but I think a team without je...
