Re: The US & UFOs
I have tried for many years to see a UFO, sadly and despite being an avid sci fi fan i have failed. This is because I am also excellent at aircraft recognition and have learnt about many natural effects in the skies therefore I identify what i view. ( sometimes later using the internet search), on a...

Brilliant set of pics of rare front line air force which usually avoids publicity of this type. Like many of your web pics they have impact and suit the subject, thanks for sharing and great web site as well.

History is full of examples of those who made an invention practical based on prior work by others, often those who had enough funds to keep going when others had to give up. Good to mark the anniversay of the Wrights and delve into other pioneers work.

Re: Another Hunter ruined..
The basic schemes used by the military are designed for a reason but even in service there are many departures for display and celebrations. Why should a not that rare example be singled out for debate? If on the other hand if it is a scrapping of a rare airframe then that is a concern.

Thank you, very enjoyable set on your website. In particular the choice of backgrounds . As a fellow pro photographer I can confirm that air to air is far from easy and your results are acredit to your skills.

Re: RAF100
The sad thing is that the majority of the MOD and service decision makers are not at all bothered about RAF history, heritage. They run the armed forces as a business, bean counters is the common name given to them. And who knows where the influence of outside PR agencies is used to decide how the RAF...

Re: RAF photo of the year 2017
It is fascinating to see what the training system for mil photographers is producing. As far as aviation subjects are concerned many images posted on UKAR are of higher standard. The air to air of the Tutors is spoiled by reflections from the perspex which can be avoided by making a foam circular ma...

Re: Dartmouth Air Display cancelled
Some boat owners/renters are the most stroppy people I have had the misfortune to encounter, they cause the coastguard and RNLI many wasted hours with ill advised trips because they are not regulated, licenced in any way. Common sense is not common and you only have to watch videos of them obstructin...

Re: One sunny day in August!!
Ian I do not think you should be apologising for the quality. You perhaps are seeking the Holy Grail of capturing fast moving aircraft in incredible detail, however the images I see here and on your site show that you are very good at what you are doing and few could match the results. Thanks for sha...

Re: The People’s Mosquito
There is sadly little real interest in airshow bookings for a Mosquito in this countries current shrinking marketplace. Despite the current enthusuiasm this has not been evident when 2 Mosquitoes came on the market in the UK in airworthy condition in the last 40 years. One ended up with Kermit Weeks...

Re: Woodford: RAFA airshows of the 90's
I have mixed reactions to the Woodford stories, yes they were often wet and as you say very varied but as a young spotter I was driven mad by the need to sell programmes as an air cadet coached in with many others from all over Lancashire, we used to leave Poulton early. All I wanted to do was tour ...

Mike the reason for basing at Lossiemouth is logistical, the revised role for the new fleet is MPA as it was in the time when Kinloss was used before the Nimrods were forced to become airborne command posts over the desert. After the scrapping of the Nimrods the use of Lossiemouth for MPA continued ...
