Lovely images of this momentous occasion. I think that’s number four out of NZ.

Re: Melbourne airport (Tullamarine).

Thanks for the comments. A few more to add to this thread, rather than start another one. Qantas has put a couple of A220s (they will ultimately operate quite a few more) into service to replace their fleet of DC-9s (cannot call them 717s) which, from what one of my ex instructors tells m...

Nice George - you should get a medal for attending... My wife and adult children think that I should be committed to some sort of custodial institution. Can't say that I have a robust defence against that. :grinning: Re: the warbird scene across the ditch in NZ, I'm saddened by the possible ...

Tyabb airshow 2024 *UPDATED 13 Mar*.

G'day from a very hot Melbourne where we have endured three days of greater than 38 C, with overnight lows of about 28 C. The Tyabb airshow is held at a small Mornington Peninsula (check yer maps! ) airfield that is home to an interesting range of homebuilt, antique and warbird aircra...

All I have are these from Oshkosh '22 and '23. Pretty ho-hum paint schemes but they're the only examples of this type that I can recall seeing. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52283203172_5ff310a077_h.jpg MiG-29 and Alphajets. by George Pergaminelis , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/6553...

My two picks from an excellent set are the first HAF F-4 and the RDAF F-16 that looks as though it is coming straight at you. Were you standing on a step ladder?! Nice work.

De Havilland Mosquito T.43 A52-1054/NZ2308, the machine Glyn Powell began the Mosquito resurrection project with about 35 years ago, is now registered as ZK-PWL and edges closer to a return to flight: http://nzcivair.blogspot.com/2024/02/the-ex-glynn-powell-mosquito-registered.html ... and it has b...

Excellent! The three-ship vintage jet presence would be enough (for me) to make it a must-attend show. The appearance of the Spad would be a bonus.. Thanks for sharing this extensive set of images.

An excellent set of images from a day during which the weather seems to have co-operated. The light direction looks favourable for photography, too. It's a show that's on my list, but dependent on whether I receive approval from the Director of Home Affairs.
