Re: A gathering of Moth - Old Warden 8 June 2024

Wot?! Only ONE Moth, of any type? Geez, how disappointing for you, Andrew, because I know how much you looked forward to this event. There must be dozens within spitting distance of this OW.

Your images of the attendees, however, are very nice. Hopefully a better year next year.

Re: Soft images Canon EOS60D

The out of focus pair of images look like the camera has missed focus, rather than it being blur due to camera shake.Happy to be corrected by someone who has a better eyes/more experience than I. Do you find that the camera ‘hunts’ focus whilst you’re following your subject? Thanks for providing the...

Re: Soft images Canon EOS60D

Post an unprocessed picture or two … and the camera/lens settings with which the images were captured. Good idea to post an unprocessed acceptable image from last year and a recent one that you consider ‘soft’. As a minimum: Camera: Shutter speed, ISO, focus point (spot, centre with 4 helpers…), au...

You have overcome the challenge of the bright grey sky and recorded some outstanding images. That DC-6 is an aircraft that I'd love to see.

Re: Topic of the Week #105 - Grasshoppers, L-Birds, Bird Dogs...

Time to wrap it up because it must be Thursday o'er there. Many thanks to those who contributed their images. First, some honourable mentions for a few images: Sean (sylvancatharsis) was in with a a big chance by submitting two images of my all-time favourite aircraft, the Aeronca Champ. Tomasz's (D...

Re: Le Temps des Hélices, La Ferté-Alais - 18/05//24

A fab set of images (I particularly like those with the threatening skies) of what seems to be the entire spectrum of aviation. I have flown in some awful weather but I wouldn't be brave enough to be the PIC of the Gooney.

Topic of the Week #105 - Grasshoppers, L-Birds, Bird Dogs...

You know what I'm talkin' about. Small, single-engine things such as, but not limited to, Piper L-4, Aeronca L-3 / O-58, Stinson L-5 and Cessna Bird Dogs. I acknowledge that they're not the most macho-looking, or sounding, aircraft but I reckon you needed guts to fly one of these during a conflict. ...

Thanks for posting this excellent set of images. A lot of the attendees (civil and warbird) must do the summer circuit of airshows because I have seen many of them at Oshkosh. I love the first cheese grater Globe Swift and all the Ercoupes. Fab little aircraft.
