Re: Bournemouth Air Festival 2023

Reds managed a crowd rear arrival and a flypast before disappearing into the cloud and cancelling their display, burning off fuel over the surrounding area before landing back at Bournemouth (second hand info).

Re: The Victory Show 2nd to 3rd September 2023

It’s not meant to be offensive - apologies if it came across that way. The Victory Show is one of my favourite shows on the calendar each year, and it’s looking absolutely fantastic this year. But I’m a strong believer in consistent and accurate advertising which shouldn’t be too much to ask for if ...

Re: The Victory Show 2nd to 3rd September 2023

That’s a shame about the Blenheim then - but again, very poor from the organisers not to remove it from the website. I seem to recall they also conveniently forgot to mention certain aircraft were appearing on one day only in previous years which at least looks to have been rectified now, with all a...

Re: The Victory Show 2nd to 3rd September 2023

What’s your source? Both the Blenheim and Corsair are still listed on the website so I’m struggling to see how they can add one as a replacement for the other but at the same time not remove the Blenheim from the website?

Re: Duxford dates 2023

the flying evening lineup is slightly underwhelming. hopefully they will add a couple of bits from TFC Looks like the flying list for Saturday's evening show has been updated - still pretty underwhelming for me personally. If it was free for members then I'd say it's fine, but if you're going to ch...

The two Travel Airs are definitely the standouts on that list. Bit surprising it’s taken this long for the Mystery Ship to be booked to fly though considering it’s based at Old Warden now.

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2023 - 16th & 17th September

Saturday and Sunday should mostly be the same in terms of what’s flying, just follow their website for updates it will say if anything is displaying on 1 day only. Museum hangars are open so give you something to do during the morning, as is the flightline walk. Keep in mind it will get very tiring ...

Re: Flying Legends Review

So the decision as to whether to fly or not should be taken out of the pilots hands and firmly placed in those of the paying public? Thanks for your comments, but no one said that. People going home feeling hard done to (I'm taking it that's what's meant by 'sour taste in the mouth') need a reality...

Re: Flying Legends 2023 - 15-16 July - Leeds East/Church Fenton

Was there a lot on the ground to see and Do? After the day off at Riat I’m not sure I want to get there too early Realistically - no. A few traders, military vehicles, live music, two-seat Spitfire, DC-3, a group or two of reenactors and the flightline walk. Take-off/landing shots were too far for ...

Re: Flying Legends 2023 - 15-16 July - Leeds East/Church Fenton

Wind forecast for Sunday similar to Saturday, so will be interesting to hear what flew today. Most of the Spitfires to open the show, Corsair pair and Bearcat (Red Bull Corsair never turned up), Flying Bulls, Curtiss quartet, Hawker Fury, P-47 and TF-51, Swordfish and Bird Dogs. Notable cancellatio...

Maybe I'm being too literal, but does that mean you can't leave until the display is over if you end up parked there?
Yes - not uncommon at airshows e.g. one of the car parks at The Victory Show becomes sterile during the flying display.

The crowd line is a long way back
That’s a very sweeping statement. Considering the weird and wonderful shape of the crowdline and the curved display line that’s been mentioned, I suspect there may be a couple of spots that are better than the others, unless you know something we don’t?

BBMF? Wingwalkers? Both have FL listed, so I’m surprised to read that’s the end of the announcements.

Can't imagine there is much more to be announced... 45 already on the website, BBMF have self-confirmed and could be a three-ship, so you're nearly at your 50. The Tempest could be the ace in the hat. But they’ve specifically said 50+ WWII fighters, not bombers or liaison aircraft? I make it 36 fig...
