Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
For an event the size of RIAT or Yeovilton, I fear it’s simply not possible for them to wait further in limbo. Everything that goes into organising an airshow including ticket sales etc would all be well underway by now. IMO we will see a full summer of airshows, but these will be restricted largely...

Re: Shuttlewworth 2021 dates announced
Now allowing pedestrians for the drive-in shows. However, there is a new pricing structure which is essentially another increase if you’re coming by car with more than 1 person. It’s now £10 for a 5x5m space and each person must have an airshow ticket - £26 (£34 after discounted price ends in Februa...

Lanc had a hydraulics issue recently I believe. No idea if it’s been fixed, but it’s appearance at Guersney airshow was cancelled and it was just the pair of fighters displaying.

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - Cancelled
Interesting news today that Aero Legends are going ahead with their airshow at Headcorn. Part of me feels that if Duxford really wanted to host this show, they could’ve used the showcase days as trial runs, set up cones, paint lines for social distancing etc but from what I read, there was nothing.

NYK and Rapide MM? Am I missing something, what are they, and the NYK must be so interesting it's listed twice?
On the whole a little bit underwhelming if that's the final list, but still potentially worth the trip for the DH84 which I've yet to see.

And the Stieglitz - was looking forward to that, was a nice little display at the Military show last year.

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.
I've enjoyed a few Duxford shows from the M11 end ever since the tank bank was closed but I assume the display line will have to be pushed further out now. Unless they can get away with it? Doesn't the tank bank remain open during practice displays etc before airshow days?

I've been meaning to attend this show for a couple of years now but it's always clashed with something else. Looking forward to attending this year all being well. Hopefully the BBMF fighters operate from Headcorn like in the past.

Re: Flying Legends to cease at Duxford
If it is all down to money, then I assume Duxford will simply see this as an opportunity to take over that Legends weekend in July and organise another generic show with some Spitfires, Red Arrows and Typhoon and keep 100% of the profits. Good luck to TFC and hopefully they'll be able to find a suit...

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.
With the public Grandstand gone from this years show, where would be the best place to go on the airfield? I've heard a few say down towards the tank hangar at the bottom of the airfield in the past but was thinking about somewhere close to the American hangar. Either far end of the airfield will b...

Re: Battle Of Britain 80: The Night Shoot
Considering their previous photo days with Darren Harbar were around the £150 mark for one aircraft and one reenactor, this looks like pretty good value for money  Honestly, the aircraft line-up is pretty exciting as it's not often you get a chance to see a Blenheim/Lysander/Fiat CR42 after da...

https://www.iwm.org.uk/airshows/faqs/covid-19 Detailed information, regarding the social distancing measures. I admire their optimism, but I’m honestly not sure what IWM are trying to achieve here? Are they trying to stay ahead of the game? Yes, we all want airshows to resume, but we hardly know wh...

No clash with RIAT!
Has common sense finally prevailed or is it just because Farnborough have scrapped their public airshow?

Re: Jet Fest - North Weald 27-29 September 2019
Maybe condensing it into a single-day fly-in style event, so at least you could reasonably expect to see arrivals and departures of multiple jets, if nothing else? Though I didn’t attend this year’s event, I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. Jetfest at the moment is essentially a fly-in + stat...

YouTube videos can be deceiving - unless you were there, you won’t know how disengaging most displays were. If you read the full review, you would see I mentioned the Sea Fury being one of the few displays to make full use of the whole length of the crowdline. Likewise the C45 Expeditor was excellen...

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2019
Is there a push to get more to use park and rides? That's one possibility IMO, to reduce traffic around the site as getting in/out of the show has been a major issue in the past. I was expecting it this year, knowing how popular the event is, but I was still caught out. Likewise - no RAFAT or Typho...
