I welled up watching this as it made me think of all those less fortunate than myself who don't have company at home and away from home through all this

Can you really trust info coming out of Israel? Why can't you trust these data, or the information? Here's some data concerning periods of Covid-19 infection time for you to consider. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(21)00425-6/fulltext I thought the deal behind Israe...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Completely agree about ambience, I probably went to pubs a dozen times between the July reopening and November lockdown. There are lots of lovely outdoor ones with beer gardens locally which I tried to support but eventually the need to use the pub's app and wait for a table (or get turned away) ma...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

More than half of pubs would not reopen and the rest would be at the mercy of the weather under tentative plans to allow beer garden service from April, the industry trade body has said. The British Beer and Pubs Association (BBPA) said 29,000 pubs, about 60%, do not have a big enough garden or out...

• By 7th February, 469,159 2nd doses had also been given,

so not quite 15 million actually vaccinated; and even those 469,159 may not have been within the recommended interval

I really hope this doesn't come back to haunt the UK

Vaccine passports. What on earth is the issue? If I want to go to West Africa I have to have a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate. Why is this different? When you get your second jab you should get a certificate, end of. Unless of course the government is looking for a way to monetise the certifi...

more punitive (punitive is all they know no persuasive / reasoning) announcements from the UK Gov't about hotel quarantine. Some interesting analysis on the World at One today about what has led to the current spat with the EU v. The World. EU backed the development of a virus which hasn't worked. I presume you mean a vaccine that hasn't worked  if so which one? I think a lot of the thinking behind the dela...

without wishing to fan the Daily Excess flames I do have to ask the obvious question why does a predominantly trading body (the EU) have control over member states' supplies of any vaccine?

Re: Lynx (not the helicopter)

I wasn't suggesting releasing Iberian Lynx which are as you say completely inappropriate for the UK and are indeed not allowed to be kept in zoos outside of Spain and Portugal which house a few examples (which are not suitable or too old for the breeding programme)

Lynx (not the helicopter)

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I agree that saying over 4.25m UK citizens have been vaccinated when only 400,000 have received a 2nd dose might be misleading. But those 3 million are presumably more protected than if they didn't have a first dose? and even if we switched back to giving the 2nd dose asap rather than after 8-12 wee...

I suggest, verreli, you nip off down to a fishing port and repeat this, on a fishing crate. See how you get on! The fishing industry will do just fine. Quotas have increased for UK boats. UK govt have committed to invest. Peoples tastes don't change. Don't believe everything you read/hear in the me...
