Re: The UKAR politics thread

In case anyone still thinks Brexit was a good idea; and this is before we even contemplate how we are going to trade on WTO rules British companies will face new barriers selling their products in the European Union, while UK nationals will face “thorough checks” when travelling to the continent eve...

Re: Your holiday plans

Fairly sensationalist reporting from the Daily Fail as usual. Wiltshire 300% increase! err like it's gone from 1 to 4

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I would hope so; 800-1000 new cases a day of which 100-200 are dying would be very worrying indeed,

Not including those who have had the virus and had no test or symptoms (if the antibody results are anything to go by)

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

According to Nottinghamshire Live, the chief constable of Nottinghamshire police, Craig Guildford, has said that if his force finds people travelling from Leicester into his county to avoid the lockdown, particularly in coaches or minibuses, they will be turned back. This will probably be where loc...

Re: Boris Force One?

Too many RAF identifiers, the small ones are a bit like the BOAC / BEA retro liveries' little BA markings and generally other clutter like the large aircraft ID and Union flags on the doors. The Union Flag wisps on the body are nice but don't really flow well with those on the tail unless you squint...

Yes United Kingdom Government.

I think the yesterday's fiasco in Bournemouth is a foretaste of what summer in the UK is going to be. Got my hopes pinned on an air bridge to a quiet self contained cabin by the sea

**** that; I prefer to get away from the British as often as possible. Even more so as we are carrying the virus more than the rest of Europe

pathetic, I'm not going along with any of it; it's all about money not health I'll keep my 2m

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I didn't think viruses were clever enough to measure myself. I do admit to sometimes passing others at less than 2m especially for half a second on a bike (them and / or me) but I don't think infected people generally have a 2m cloud of airborne virus that surrounds their whole body; it's a respirat...

Re: Boris Force One?

The aircraft is in for its scheduled maintenance overhaul which will require a complete strip and repaint, the cost is a total of £900,000 all in, it has already been budgeted for and is inline with planned works. Do you have a source for that? I was having a quick google last night to try and find...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

It was on the Guardian website but behind a Paywall; it would explain why we see death figures in the 30s-50s for NHS England and then the total UK figure is 150-250 even now. But not sure if it includes all those deaths from April.

Yep and the "air corridors" that are (maybe) being considered in Europe are aimed at reopening tourism between countries with ...

What's with the UNITED KINGDOM lettering or is that just artistic licence? apart from Air Force One I don't think any official VIP planes in the world have other than that country's airforce as identification.

It's a ship is it? Union Jacks are only found flying from masts.

so presumably it can't be pressed into military service if required with such a loud livery?
