complete aside but I think I saw one of their B737s at Tivat Montenegro 2 months ago is that possible?
(It may have been a very similar livery but def a 737; I remember thinking how similar to eJ)

Re: Diverted back to LGW
There was an easyJet ground liaison person back at LGW who directed us to the new special check in area where we got new boarding passes with 9 instead of 8 as the flight number. I asked her why we had to go all the way out and back and she said it's because we had left the UK and gone back from a S...

Re: Diverted back to LGW
Possible that the crew would then have been out of hours and there would have been no one to fly the a/c back from Funchal. Especially as getting into Funchal can be a little hairy at times. Yes that was the reason they gave and they definitely need specially trained pilots for FNC*. They did explo...

Diverted back to LGW
I took a flight to Madeira recently. Due to a medical emergency we were required to divert to Nantes. After a couple of hours having dealt with the emergency the flight crew / airline decided that due to the knock on effect on crew hours it was best to return to LGW which we did (no other pax got of...

Took a walk there today, hoping I'd see more than you can from a car but it doesn't appear to be the case. There are cones everywhere at the end of the new access road from the A281 but doesn't appear to be anything else in the way of security to stop you walking onto the live runway (a Cessna / Pip...

Re: Why is there never any Flypasts on Rememberance Day?
I was at Hyde Park Corner when they unveiled the Australian War Memorial on 11.11.2003. At 1100 a jet flew directly overhead but couldn't see it due to low cloud. I wondered if it might have been a Canberra. According to Wiki the ceremony ended with a flypast of Jaguars although I had left by then. ...

Re: Battle of Britain Air Show 14-15th September 2024
I know it's the BoB show but re-enactments after all these years are hardly appropriate, especially not a single Buchon against a Big Wing of RAF fighters.
Yes the Walton music is far more appropriate.

I wasn't there but looking at the photos posted elsewhere it seems the Buchon was once again used as an example of the enemy to be shot down complete with smoke. I hope we didn't have the cringeworthy commentary which I've heard before!

Re: Diecast re-modelling question
I gave up on traditional glue together models decades ago and now just collect diecasts. The quality is superb (yes they cost a lot more) but they are not really suited to being repainted, there doesn't seem to be any way to get them apart so you'd need a lot of masking.

Thinking of heading but can't really afford the £50. Is there any where nearby I can park and just watch from a distance? Thanks guys in a word No. There is no parking anywhere near apart from the car parks, Duxford village and Grange Road are all no parking / entry on the day. If you're prepared t...

Re: Eastbourne 2024
I went up there in 2005; pretty miserable day weatherwise. Highlight was the DHL 757 over my head then it all got quite low visibility and went back down to the seafront. As I said upthread there are many punters happy to pay the parking (£25 per car including a programme which is a steal if there a...

Exactly that Timuss & IP1960! Since Aug 22nd 2015 the World of Air Displays has been disproportionately & adversely affected by the quest to prevent another incident like Shoreham. Beachy Head as a location for photographing arriving & departing aircraft for Airbourne Eastbourne was inc...

Lancaster also not flying today due to weather. And to top it off no Draken due to bad weather at Bournemouth, glad I chose not to take a half day from work and head down today then, not a great day for the airshow at all. There are a couple of Sat-Sun only displays (OK not fast noisy jets) so presumably the Draken is to fill their slots Thu-Fri.

The plane in question seems to have been painted so many times!
This looks like the best scheme (or easiest at least!) and looks the right shade of grey

Ok thanks; I'm not that worried about any small gaps around the round windows. I visited today but stayed off-site; actually got a better view of the planes as they were SO far away, although not of the helis. The Chinook spend ages circling and climbing to a very great height but eventually aborted the paras drop. Very spirited performances by the F15QA and F-16. The Italian ...

I think the Hawks took over in 1978. I read that the T2 are due to got out of service by 2040 so doesn't seem much point swapping them for 10 years.
