Re: Aero Legends 80th Anniversary Battle of Britain Airshow
Obviously not the only air show in Europe this year, as Old Warden, Guernsey, Kauhava and Vesivehmaa will testify... indeed, with the OW DH Show on Sunday, it wasn’t even the only air display of the weekend! But the organisers deserved better luck with the weather having jumped all the hurdles to ge...

Re: Guernsey Air Display 2020
It was great. Perfect weather. The only seafront display in Europe (the World?) in 2020 and, with the news from Duxford, it looks like the only UK display from RAFAT. I know how lucky we were. Flying: Started off by BBMF Spitfire TE311 and Hurricane LF363 Welcome return of the Blades, who made it wo...

Re: Guernsey Air Display 2020
48 hours to the only sea front display in Europe this year, and keeping everything crossed. As is always the case, a few last minute changes. The Lancaster has pulled out (believe it recovered into Coningsby on a 7700 code the other day).... so just Spitfire and Hurricane. Team Raven have been affec...

Re: Kauhava Airshow Finland August 2020
Well done - good to see some air display shots from this year featuring fast jets, display teams and flares.
What was the official attendance for the Show per day?
I take it the Reds has an A400 support?

Kauhava Air Show 29/30 August
Looks like Finland is going to have the only air show in Europe this year with fast jets and a foreign display team. Gripen, Rafale and Red Arrows on the participation list, as well as the Finnish Air Force assets. Mind you, the Rafale might be in doubt now with the situation in France https://www.k...

Re: Guernsey Air Display 2020
Jersey have taken a different path re COVID, and their borders are currently open, with a test on arrival. Also, they are still importing a few cases, so not yet allowing large gatherings - although that could change any time. I know they hope to hold a display of some kind subject to restrictions a...

Guernsey Air Display 2020
Announced today that the Guernsey Air Display will take place on Sept 10th, assuming no changes to the local COVID situation. RAFAT and BBMF (Dakota, 2 Spitfires) confirmed plus Catalina self confirmed on their website. As welcome news as this is to Guernsey folk, this isn’t much good to most on her...

Re: Will air shows be cancelled because of coronavirus
Nobody can say that any large event going forward WILL happen, the best they can say is that they are still planning to hold a particular event. This situation is so dynamic - look at where we were two months ago- how can anybody say with any certainty where we will be in two days time, let alone 2 ...

Let face it, if we get to the point where RIAT is cancelled, the world will have a lot more to worry about than whether tickets get refunded.

That is indeed true...but there are a couple which are vulnerable, especially with funding from central government being cut in the next twelve months.

Re: Portrush 2020 cancelled
Indeed, the 2019 TSIA was a victim of council funding. A 3-day show was promised for 2020, but anyone following the news will know that there is currently an issue between the council and the organisers which may come to a head at a Special Meeting of the Council next week..... Funding of free-to-vi...

Good to see this air show back on the calendar. With the loss of Dunsfold and the scaling back of Biggin Hill, any new airfield based show is welcome.

Re: Your favourite UK airshow 2019?
Maybe its because I volunteer at RIAT, because I am there for the whole week, but I really enjoyed this year's event. Okay, Friday was a wash out, but that's not the Organiser's fault - the line up looked solid. Yes, I have never seen such lop-sided Saturday/Sunday, favouring one day, but any show, ...
