Re: Cosford Airshow 2024 - 9th June 2024
Well, with Cosford's fleet of Jaguars, Tornados, Harriers, plus the newly delivered Typhoon, that's 5 weeks of updates sorted. Add in a couple of Chipmunks, Trago Mills SAH-1 (self confirmed on Facebook) and the based Air Ambulance... job's a good'un! I'm hearing Cosford does have one international ...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2024 - 9th June 2024
And, of course, it all changes if some sort of foreign participant is announced. I’ve heard gossip about the French, for instance. If, for example, Couteau Delta turned up, suddenly it’d be a huge turnaround based on one item. I've heard on the grapevine that Cosford didn't send their invitations t...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2024 - 9th June 2024
Theres one thing I really cannot understand for Cosford this year. Set aside the lack of information, the lacklustre line-up (so far) and the problems of the last two years. But why, oh why, are they withholding publicizing of their RAF display assets? Almost all other airshows seem to announce the ...

Re: RIAT 2024 wishlist.
People should remember that Air Combat Command operate many many aircraft, like the RC-135, and not just the F-22/F-16/F-35/A-10 Demo Teams. So perhaps RIAT are discussing other aircraft; not a Demo Team?

Re: Cosford Airshow 2024 - 9th June 2024
Lets compare some June airshow announcements:
Danish; German Tornados and Orion.
Duxford; Red Bull and Dakotas.
Midlands; Sabre, Draken, Red Bull, and more.
Sywell; tens of warbirds.
Cosford; Confirmed they're still poor at communicating.

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
The Western Loop was out of bounds/beyond the barriers on the Friday show day. I only went that day and missed the Harriers/Phantom/Fitter etc. Just a word of warning if you are thinking of going on the Friday in case it is the same again. From memory, the green zone (west end) has always been clos...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2024 - 9th June 2024
So, Cosford who defended themselves last year when they had a pisspoor line-up of aircraft by saying "it's for the families" and now they're launching this new enclosure (Jerry Fray) which is aimed at photographers and aviation enthusiast, with your £80 ticket getting you a crowd centre vi...

Excellent news that we're getting the Canadian Hornet (rarely seen in Europe), but people are too focus on the lack of boring USAF demo teams?!

The point is rather academic, as I believe Chinese aircraft aren't allowed at RIAT?

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread
Apologies if this has been asked but will there be tickets for sale for P&V weds, thurs and mon on the gate despite it being sold out online? A limited number yes. Been discussed elsewhere, but the general consensus is that although the on the gate tickets are limited, no one has reported ever ...

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread
I think this shows how lucky/spoilt we are with RIAT. I see Andy’s trolling post about Radom and KB. But for me, the airshow experience is far superior at RIAT; static display layout is photographer friendly and there’s a level of general event quality you don’t find at European shows. Looking at th...

Re: Cosford 2023 thoughts and views?
People can make excuses about Aircraft cancellations etc. The flying display was extremely poor.
But the real bummer, was the ridiculous parking of aircraft in the static display. I don’t have the words to describe the underwhelming effort. Totally in their control, no excuse.

Wasp is the replacement for the Wildcat.
Irish EC135 repositioned to static.
Belgian NH90 apparently U/S? No practice display today means no display tomorrow I believe?

Re: Cosford Arrivals 2023
There’s a post on Facebook from someone flying in a static aircraft, who says they haven’t been given an arrival slot at Cosford yet. So maybe the disorganised organisers don’t even know which days aircraft will arrive?!

Re: Cosford Airshow 2023 (discuss everything)
From the responses on social media, RAF Cosford spokesperson has their rose tinted spectacles on, they're happy they've sold out, and they have a "great programme" for everyone to enjoy next weekend. But even before the loss of the B-17 & Catalina, it was lacklustre in the eyes of many...

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread
I hope/assume the coming weeks will see that quantity bulk, with hopefully plenty of jets from Italy and the USAF (European Eagles, Vipers and Lightnings). As others have said, the quality is already there with the rare items! My primary wish however is for a couple more tankers, for the theme, whic...

I don't get the point/relevance of the Typhoon flying with the Lancaster? It should be a Lightning from 617 Squadron celebrating the Dambusters Anniversary!

Also there seems to be some issues with the planned Al-Fursan European tour (most likely cancelled in favour for an ASIA tour)

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread
II have to say that I have witnessed the gate allowing a lot of people in without checking if they have a ticket. If you present it they will check it but if you breeze through they don`t bother to check or challenge. I get the impression that this is well known. When I attended as a FRIAT Member, ...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2023 (discuss everything)
On the grapevine I've heard the intent is to use Cosford as the public farewell for the Hercules, with one aircraft on static display, and another in the flying display. Fingers crossed.
