Re: RIAT 2022 Participation and Discussion chat

According to the New Zealand MOD website their first Poseidon is due for delivery in 2023. Also, in their video they say they are "excited by the prospect of showcasing our aircraft in the future"... next year is not mentioned. Having rewatched the Virtual Air Tattoo on YouTube, a lot of the aircra...

Themes look to be USAF 75th Anniversary, Training Aircraft and Air Cadets 80th Anniversary.
I didn't hear Air Cadets mentioned as a theme for next year, particularly as their 80th Anniversary is this year, as the ATC was formed on the 5th February 1941.

Re: FRIAT price increase

What's the new price of a Mach 3 ticket now? Once you actually start to break the cost of a week at RIAT into equivalent chunks; tickets for Fri, Sat & Sun are costing at least £150, plus another £50 quid for the days spent in park and view. So really once you consider the price for the prime locati...

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2021 - POSTPONED

I wouldn't get your hopes too high for a Cosford show in September to be honest. And if it does go ahead, expect a much smaller affair with no international participation planned.

Red Arrows for the sunset airshow :-)
I suspect they'll be added to one of the weekend show days too, if Cosford doesn't go ahead with their planned September show.

Slightly bemused to see images of a Harrier and Mangusta featured, as neither type are operated by the Italian Air Force. :no_mouth:

Instead of spending the money rebuilding VX281 again, maybe they should focus on getting at least one Swordfish airworthy and returning the Sea Hawk to flight.

Re: International Sanicole Airshow, Belgium (10-12 September 2021)

So no static as Sanicole only looks a 600m runway? What happened to Kleine Brogel as an airshow? So no change to the usual Sanicole with only helicopters / light aircraft on static display, as has been the case for decades? The Belgian Air Force are still planning their official airshow, which will...

Do we know how they will socially distance the FRIAT Stand. Assuming all still have valid tickets, it's either got to get a lot higher or a huge amount wider. Anyone know how wide it is normally? I'm sure it previously been discussed that its impossible to make the grandstand any taller or longer i...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread

it would be impossible to keep 250.000 people apart at Fairford. I bet they wouldn't be keen on crowds of 250,000! I think its more in the region of 150,000 (limited) over the entire weekend these days. According to the RIAT website, they had 170000 people attend last year, so roughly 56000 per day...

Do you think air arms will be more likely to reject an invite to riat 2021 because of covid? Also could the fact that we are not in the EU anymore effect anything?

I sincerely hope that the IWM management have put a lot of thought and effort into making the airshow "COVID Secure" and introducing measures to make social distancing manageable along the crowdline. It's all well and good creating the extra space and limiting ticket number but that's simply lip ser...

Lack of "I believe that" or "I would imagine so" or "it's highly likely that" is the problem with that, and many other posts on forums.
As soon as other people see that in written format it comes across as authoritative and correct, whereas it's just opinion/belief.
