The volunteers should be praised for there hard work, after all volunteers are the backbone of historic aircraft preservation ...

It's never been impossible mate. 558 could have her engines out, gear removed, forward cockpit removed and other parts. Amazing what weight you can probably get her down to if the will was there. She could then be airlifted, at a price of course, to somewhere else, or road transported out at night....

Or for half million pound I could strip, road move to another location and rebuild the other VC10 at Bruntingthorpe.

For half a million pound, I could do the following with the VC10 at Bruntingthorpe :- Ground run her 12 times a year Fast taxi 2 or 3 times a year Keep her outside, preserved in excellent condition All for the general public of all ages to see For at least the next 40 odd years. As the person who runs the VC10 at Brunty, I can assure you 241 is safe. Yes, there are many cars on Bruntingthorpe and there always will be. There also will always be aircraft there.
