Re: RIAT 2025
I’ve only started my working life in July last year, so I can see why trying to sort a few days up in the Cotswolds can be a challenge. For me however it’s paying for it. I barely get more than minimum wage at my age (£7.55 woooooooo) but yea, can be a challenge trying to get the time off You finan...

Re: RIAT 2025
Wow, where to start with that.... Horses for courses. If you feel it's a good use of your time, great. Fill your boots. I said it wasn't a good use of my time with my other commitments. Not everyone likes helicopters. I find them dull to watch but enjoy flying in them. RIAT is a spectator sport. I ...

Re: RIAT 2025
You could take one of these funny things called a holiday that way you could do the whole week and not miss anything  While trying to keep my response relatively generic, I'm already taking 2 days holiday which with other commitments is my limit. Taking an extra day to watch a bunch of choppe...

Re: RIAT 2025
While the An-74 is a nice addition to the static and could even be considered a star aircraft - even by the general public with its unusual configuration, knowing my luck it'll be arriving on the Wednesday so I won't see it in the air. No all of us can afford unlimited time off work. Last year was p...

Re: RIAT 2025
Does anyone know as to when the USAF will announce their flying displays? About 6 months ago That's just ACC. I'm going to take a wild stab at sometime in the next four weeks although around 04 July has traditionally seen announcements. At the risk of mod wrath, Mildenhall and Fairford are not ACC....

Re: RIAT 2025
... and then the ATL2 demo was announced - surely a star item in any reasonable enthusiast’s book - and people are straight back into needing another “star”. Perhaps a bit niche. One for the hard core. While I acknowledge its rarity, it's a toilet break for me. A star is the one demo that you go to...

Re: RIAT 2025
I've been mulling over the predominantly negative sentiment on this site and others I visit. I think it comes down to anticipation. For the general public, the Reds are confirmed and there'll be other fast and noisy flying machines so they have plenty to look forward to. For those with a penchant fo...

Re: RIAT 2025
You can see U-2 flying most days at Fairford so it's not that big a deal. Just do some non-show spotting. I've heard this argument trotted out a few times. It's just not reasonable. First, Fairford may not be local and second, from outside the fence line you can't get as close. The only thing missi...

Re: RIAT 2025
To the extent that people were saying that the show is lacking a “star” item, the ATL2 must surely be it? For the hard core enthusiast maybe, but I wonder what the response from the other 99,993 would be? My guess... Red Arrows and Harrier. For those in the middle like me, I'm still waiting for som...

Re: FRIAT 2025 Renewals
There must be a threshold for FRIAT economic viability. If they don't get enough renewals, it's possible they'll look to use the prime real estate of the FRIAT stand for another hospitality tent. It looks like general ticket sales are strong so they won't lose revenue associated with entry. In fact,...

Miramar is not great for photos... Thanks for the advice Berf. It'll be useful for pre-planning my day and for anyone else who views this thread. I'll likely try a couple of spots on each day for a variety of angles but start with your advice. Nice formation t/o shot of the hornets despite the chal...

Is it your first time at those shows? First time at Miramar airshow although I first went to Miramar in the 90's. Back then it was just wall to wall F-14's and Top Gun F-5's/A-4's. Boring  Went to Huntington a few years back. The weather was good. It was a great show including a few surprises...
