Re: FRIAT 2023 ticket increases discussion
Anything else? Thanks for doing this Tommy. It would be good to know if FRIAT 2023 gives access to P&V on Thursday. The email seems to suggest P&V access on Wednesday and the other five days in the grandstand. but that might be my misunderstanding. As P&V is often 'sold out' and me bein...

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - Cancelled
Snipped.......... What I think has happened (and this is speculation) is either the local authorities have pulled the plug due to the worry of all the outside visitors or the organisers have cancelled on moral grounds. I think Duxford have followed government advice. As has been said in other posts...

Re: Will air shows be cancelled because of coronavirus
It has been announced that the four-day Photography and Video Show at the NEC - Saturday 14th March to Tuesday 17th March - has been cancelled due to the current health situation. It's hoped to stage it later in the year.

When run by 'Friends of Duxford' members could bring in one guest. Now, under IWM ownership/management no guests are allowed. I asked about the change at one of the 2019 shows and was told "all the room is needed for members".

This one? https://www.amazon.com/Forgotten-Pilots-Story-Transport-Auxiliary/dp/0947750029 The blurb at the top suggests 1985, but the product details imply this is the 3rd Revised Ed 1994. If it's not the correct one, it at least shows there was a version in 1985, as you suggest in your OP. Not too ...

Re: Israeli F-15s RAF Waddington 28/8
Great pictures! Anyone know what the blue writing is on the noses by the serial (and the 1 1/2 kill markings on 818) I assume it's a kind of personal nose art as they're all different? That's almost certainly weathering on the top surface of the wings on 733. I was told they are nicknames (in Hebre...

Re: Patrouille de France incident (runway overrun?)
Not your fault MtM, but I'm gonna blame Google Translate for this, "waste ground" is not the English name for the narrow embankment that separates the D614 from the D117 Dual Carriageway! PS:- This bank is some 260 metres past the r/w15 keys on the far end of the runway 33 it should've la...

Re: Patrouille de France incident (runway overrun?)
A rough translation from the link above. This happened late this morning at Perpignan-Rivesaltes International Airport where the Alphajets of the Pat de France were landing, prior to giving a display later today at Saint-Cyprien. One of the aircraft ran off the runway, crossed the D614 (road) and ca...

Agree with what Paul_Reflex says and I've used both as well. It's horses for courses really and dependant, as Paul says, on how you will use it. The 7D2 has a better focusing system, better frame rate/continuous shooting, better weather sealing and the shutter life expectancy is twice that of the 80...

The AAIB have put the majority of the blame at his feet in their official report , what the Courts have said (and I can't fathom without reading the reasoning) is that it is was however, not manslaughter or reckless endangerment of an aircraft (My bold) From AAIB Bulletin 2/2019 in relation to inve...

This Meteor was purchased along with the T7 by the World Heritage Air Museum, but they only want the engines from the NF11 and the airframe will be/is donated to the owner at Bruntingthorpe. Apparently a pair of spares are available to keep WM167 in taxiable condition. It appears the NF11 engines a...

Never listened to Jeremy Vine previously - what a load of drivel, and waste of time, that was. Thankfully, at least Geoff Brindle was there to put a counter point of view.
