Trademarking
There was a thread on here a few months ago about trademarking, more specifically about how a company had been able to trademark the term Remove Before Flight and gain exclusive rights to sell key rings and tags etc. bearing that term. This was despite such items having been sold by all and sundry f...

Re: Yorkshire Auction House
These posts reminded me of the KABLE acronym advised to the shop manager at the museum a while back by the wife of a regular shopper Or in my case BABLE - Books Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy 😂 And on that subject I’m overdue a visit to the museum (and it’s excellent bookshop!), so will most likel...

Re: another one bites the dust - Brunty's Super Guppy to be cut up
Very sorry to read this, Andy - such a thing is the ultimate nightmare for any aircraft preservation group. I can only imagine it was made worse because the team was powerless to do anything about it and no one had the decency to let you know what was going on.

VRT Visit the Vulcan Day - 20 September
If anyone’s at a loose end next Sunday, 20 September, and is looking for an aviation ‘fix’, we are holding a Visit the Vulcan Day at London Southend Airport. COVID guidelines mean we must restrict the numbers at the event at any one time, so admission is by advance ticket only. There will be no tick...

We’re glad you enjoyed your day, Andy, and thanks for sight of the rest of your excellent photos. As well as being an event for the Trust’s members, it was also a ‘test’ for how we could run further member and public taxi-run events with XL426 in the future, hopefully next year - so please watch thi...

Re: Visit the Vulcan Day - Southend 17 June
Sorry if I'm missing something obvious here but does XL426 get the engines run up during the visit the Vulcan events ? We don't run engines at our Visit the Vulcan Days but do power-up the Airborne Auxiliary Power Plant (AAPP) at lunchtime so visitors can see the bomb doors being opened and shut an...

Our second Visit the Vulcan Day of 2018 takes place on Sunday, 17 June, at London Southend Airport. It's Fathers' Day, of course, so if you're looking for someone to take your Dad as a treat, or if you yourself are a Dad and the family has said is up to you where to go because it's your 'Special Day...

VRT Spring Event - Flying the SR-71 Blackbird
Our Spring Event takes place this Saturday, 28 April, which features retired US Air Force Colonel Rich Graham as our very special guest speaker. Re: Visit the Vulcan Day - Southend this Sunday
Thanks to sithrithy and any other UKAR regulars who came along to support us yesterday. We hope you had a good day and enjoyed yourselves. We had a very decent turnout and the weather played ball. A decent amount of cash went into the coffers which will help pay the bills (for a while anyway)! Our n...

Re: Where has XH558 thread gone?
Some interesting points and I cannot resist posting some additional food for thought! Today the public was participating in cockpit tours of Vulcan XM594 at Newark and they have done so on and off for more than 35 years, this cost an extra £1 per person over and above the normal museum admission fe...

Re: Visit the Vulcan Day - Southend this Sunday
Whilst nothing is confirmed yet, it's quite possible we will go down both routes for our engine running and taxying events. Our ethos has always been to give as many people as possible the chance to see XL426 and this is reflected by the very affordable entry fees at our Visit the Vulcan Days. We're...

Re: Visit the Vulcan Day - Southend this Sunday
Hello Richard. This sounds like a tempting day out. Do you have any ambitions to allow potential paying enthusiasts the chance to see XL426 taxiing? I don't expect for a moment this would be straight forward, but I believe there was a secret taxi run December last year? I understand the reason it w...

I’m sure many of you will have heard of the renowned Vulcan display pilot, Squadron Leader Joe L’Estrange. We are delighted to let everyone on UKAR know that Vulcan XL426 will soon be moving to a new home under cover at London Southend Airport. XL426 is relocating to the airport’s Hangar 6 for an initial five-year period. The hangar will become our engineering and visitor base. XL426 was moved off her pa...
