Re: RAF Syerston - planned Red Arrows displays this month

Managed to make it down for the 2nd run today. Cloud didn't allow for a full display but didn't matter, fantastic to see them.

Re: The FR24/PlanePlotter Thread

Do you know what the purpose of the visits are? It appeared to immediately taxi back to the end of the runway and take off. Long way to come to spend 6 minutes on the ground.

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?

Based on statements that have emerged over the past couple of days, the TBAG group is moving to Kemble, David Walton is trying to put up buildings to house aircraft next to the 'Q' shed, just outside of the airfield (he owns the Comet, Nimrod and Victor) and the VC10s have been asked to leave by Oc...

Scampton should become a dedicated live museum. Base all RAF display teams there (sadly currently that amasses Reds & BBMF), with hangarage & support for civilian operators to base themselves there too. Move everything possible from Bruntingthorpe and keep the CWJ days going. I am certain it would ...

As long as you don't count the Typhoon, Chinook, Tutor and The Falcons as display teams, like the RAF do... :face_with_raised_eyebrow: https://www.RAF.mod.uk/display-team...

Re: Aircraft tracking system/app - Which is best?

Many thanks Eric. Yes I'm mainly interested in the military aircraft but I'll take a look at anything out of the ordinary. There was very little showing on 360Radar today that wasn't showing on ADSB, also no extra types. Perhaps it was just a slow day!

Aircraft tracking system/app - Which is best?

Hi all. *Apologies, I feel this question will have been asked before but I couldn't find a previous topic, and anyway things may have changed since it was previous discussed...* There are various tracking systems out there for us to follow aircraft movements, but which is best? I'm trialing 360Radar...

Thanks, yeah I did consider it could be them. But it just sounded slower and heavier. Perhaps they were performing a high alpha pass for me.

Fantastic to see and as said a real milestone. What with all the rumours of Bruntingthorpe no longer being able to run its resident historic jets, I wonder if Bentwaters would be able to take on some of the aircraft and their owners / groups?! Rob The neighbours at Bentwaters are not very friendly ...
