Re: Duxford Airshows 2021

by Pen Pusher » Mon 20 Sep 2021, 2:25 pm Doesn't mean it's going to show. Lancaster was down for the BoB show and didn't appear I'm going to assume that it won't show up and therefore I won't be disappointed if that's proven correct, whereas it will be a pleasant surprise when (if) it rolls over th...

Thanks for posting Mark. I have to say it's cheered me up to see the Swordfish all but ready to take to the air again. Let's hope we will see it out and about next season.

Great shots Brian, I can't believe they are handheld.

Would anyone happen to know what type of lights they were using as I'm looking for a set for a non aviation related nightshoot?

Glad it sold out, sad i didnt get a chance to get a ticket but i hope it happens again. Id much rather pay a premium to have less people and better organised than cheaper with 1000's there.
I agree, I'll just have be quicker next time.

I got the same email and I was surprised that it hadn't been updated in line with their website, it's not like the Lancaster and Swordfish were only cancelled today. Even so, I'm looking forward to it.

Re: Little Gransden 2021

I too was a first timer at LG and I have to say that I was very happy with everything that I saw. It was nice to be able to admire most of the aircraft in front of the crowd, seeing them being prepared for the show and not have to worry about landings and take offs being blocked. One or two displays...

Re: Little Gransden 2021

That's disappointing but not unexpected. Has the Lancaster either flown at or from Duxford yet? The last updates I saw were that it had some engine runs but nothing further.

I know SW just updated their website but the new pages are a hot mess right now! The airshow info is hidden away…
Yes I agree, it's very clunky, difficult to find stuff and I would expect to be able to find all airshow related events and information together.

Andy/Alpha Delta, again many thanks for the updates, very useful information. I would like to catch some take offs and landings too so I may wander a little rather than stay put for this one if it's not too busy. It sounds like a 400mm will be perfect. I'm looking forward to it.

Re: Little Gransden 2021

Andy, many thanks for posting this, very useful information for me as a first timer. As you have indicated, the runway is not the display line, but what's the view like back from the fence line and how busy does it tend to be?

Re: Shuttleworth Vintage Weekend 4-5th September

That's a bummer, the Swordfish was the deal clincher for me as I was deciding between Cosby and the Shuttleworth. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good line up, especially if the Lancaster turns up.

That must have been one of the fastest line up U turns ever.
